Professional History

Tenure: July 2006- Ongoing
Position: Senior Completions/Well Service Engineer
Employer: StatoilHydro and Sonangol P&P
Location: Onshore/offshore Luanda, Angola
Responsibilities:  Senior Completions Engineer for Gimboa Project Block 4/05.
7 wells 4 Injectors and 3 Producers in 740m water. All FEED was done by myself for upper and lower completions. The peer reviews were done by StatoilHydro in Norway. For lower completions this included sand screen selection versus gravel pack, swell packers versus constrictors, FIV evaluations and wash pipe considerations, completion mud was evaluated by SOH but filtration process was designed by myself and worked extremely well. All contingency plans for lower completions were considered and equipment was negotiated on standby rates. We ran the longest SAS in Angola at over 1500m, with swell packers, all the FIV's opened. Operation time on average was 7 days for lower completion and 7 days for upper completion. The upper completions were all designed with minimum intervention and gas lift considerations. No reservoir stimulation was planned for these wells. A special designed shear out sub was made by SLB after further design reviews. We were the first company in Angola to run X-lift gas lift system from SLB in Angola. I evaluated all bids, considering commercial, technical and Angolan content. I conducted all CWOP for each well and all performance reviews of each individual service company.
During the course of these 7 wells we also had the opportunity to perform 1 DST which was done with SAS this was to evaluate reservoir and screen performance. The Welltest was designed, written and then supervised offshore by myself. A second DST was planned unfortunately the test was abandoned, but a full DST program for Liner+ Liner hanger with a DST and TCP was prepared, again done by myself.
A well test was planned and prepared by myself for Punja Block 3/05 all equipment and services companies included, unfortunately I had to leave before finishing the job, but the work was carried out as per my test program which included pre-simulation and post-stimulation well tests, the results were good.
 Technical assistance on Blocks 2 and 3. These duties mainly consisted of peer reviews of the work currently being carried out on these blocks. Perforating, Stimulation, well-testing, Liner hangers, upper and lower completion equipment choices and material selection. Intervention work using CT and E-line ( standard and tractor)
 Office based engineering or all the completion services provided.
 Rig site engineering and supervision when required
 Writing procedures and documentation for all completions and welltest operations
 Bid evaluation for the procurement of materials and services Technical And Commercial
 Risk analysis and CWOP for all the activities incurred during completions phase.
