3D Modeling Design Engineer (contract position)
I created the 3d model of the entire Uranium Enrichment Facility (19 structures) using AutoCAD 2009, CadWorx and Navisworks. The model consisted of all major disciplines (civil, structural, electrical, piping, HVAC, complete hanger system, etc.). While there, I also assisted in the creation of the onsite CAD department and the standards applied to the construction documents in preparation of design handover of the facility to the mother company LES.

I created schematic cabling plans and loop diagrams for various plant projects while working in the Instrumentation & Controls department at Washington Group (now URS Washington Division). I also assisted in the ramp-down process of a Sulfur Processing Plant where I confirmed vender information and locations of instruments, sensors, gages and valves on their 3D Model, and created instrumentation control layouts in the Command Center for the Plant. The software used to complete these tasks were a combination of AutoCAD 2004, Bentley's Microstation "J", SmartPlant and AutoPlant CAD packages.

FIBER OPTIC NETWORK PROJECT PRODUCTION SCHEDULER / TEAM LEADER / DRAFTER (contract position)
I held the position of "Production Scheduler" for a 42 Man CAD Department assembled to create a 17,000 mile National Fiber Optic Network System for "Level 3 Communications, Inc." The Bundled Conduits consisted of 12-3" Conduits. The project entailed Digitizing Val Maps, Transferring Field and GIS Surveys onto Digitized Maps, and printing sheets to both 1"=100' Scale (in rural Areas) and 1"=50' (in Urban Areas). We Packaged Sections of approx. 25 mi., and released them for Permitting and Construction. My position as Production Scheduler required me to distribute the 25 mi. projects to the Job Captains, ramp-up the manpower (CAD Operators) accordingly, then ramp down the manpower as the project came to a close and then re-assign the CAD operators to another ongoing project. During my time as Production Scheduler, man-hours to complete a typical project went from over 21 man-hours per mile to less than 6. Software used here consisted of Microstation SE, Iris B and C, Smallworld, Inroads and Draftworks.

While there, I headed up the complete revamping and updating of the Tennessee Valley Public Power Authority Construction Spec.
