ONE YEAR TRAINING IN HEALTH PHYSICS BY BHABHA ATOMIC RESEARCH CENTRE. (1998)

On completion of training, worked as Operational Health Physicist at Madras atomic Power Station (WANO) with twin units of Pressurized Heavy Water Reactors (PHWR).

Since March 2009, Radiation Safety Officer & Health Physicist (BARC), at Mineral Separation Plant, IREL, Manavalakurichi, situated at one of the classified Natural High Background Radiation Area (NHBRA).

As a member of team dedicated for radiation protection of plant, personnel and environment, I am associated with following responsibilities in connection with radiation protection scenario of front and back end of nuclear fuel cycle.
(1) As front line radiation protection personnel including independent round the clock shift assignments.
(2) Radiation hazard identification, communication and minimization programme associated with reactor operation as well as NORM handling.
(3) Dose estimation & recording
(4) Advisory and regulatory aspects. Certified Radiation Safety Officer (RSO)
(5) ALARA compliance and improvements.
(6) Radiation protection procedures during plant Startup, operation and partial decommissioning (up gradation) phase.
(7) Radiation Instruments performance evaluation and calibration.
(8) Radiation protection training for plant personnel and contractors.
(9) Event investigation and reporting.
