Skills & Responsibilities.
INSULATION/ PAINTING/ COATING
* Providing support for coating and insulation technical issues during procurement.
* Day to day site inspection activities of Coating and Insulation Inspection Engineers.
* Verifying technical integrity
* Participate, as part of the Project Quality Management System (QMS), in the development of Site quality control system (e.g., Plans and Procedures).
* Participate in review of key reference documentation for construction (e.g. Specifications) to verify compliance with Total Company Rules, General Specification and Project requirements
* Supervise the activities of assigned personnel and Contractor. Perform supervisory functions at the level established for the position.
* Develop, document and implement a detailed Surveillance Program during the execution of Contractor's coating, painting, surface finish and insulation works to ensure its adherence to reference documentation.
* Verify that Application Procedures, Quality Control Procedures and Inspection & Test Plans proposed by Contractor are technically acceptable, met Specification and Code requirements and cover the complete coating and insulation scope for the Project.
* Review, monitor and endorse the Coating and insulation Operator and Inspector qualification program to ensure compliance with Project reference documentation.
* Verify the adequacy of the Operator Certification and related Proficiency Cards.
* Review material certification applicability and conformity prior to material acceptance and thereafter material storage, issue and traceability.
* Monitor trends for repair rates and ensure these are maintained within acceptable levels.
* Develop and maintain a Data Base for, painting, coating, surface finish and insulation inspection activities.
* Develop and maintain Performance Indicators, Performance Standards and Performance Targets and monitor compliance and highlight adverse quality trends.
* Prepare weekly and monthly QAQC Reports for Site QAQC Manager relative to painting, coating, surface finish and insulation inspection activities, and write the corresponding narratives.
* Ensure that accurate painting, coating, surface finish and insulation records are maintained by Contractor throughout the contractual period.
* Conduct visits, surveillance activities and/or compliance audits at the Site Works as per schedule or, as and when required by Site QAQC Manager
* Initiate Non-conformance Reports where technical integrity is established as contrary to construction drawings, project specs, contract documents, Code and quality system requirements
* Participate in the review of Site deviations related to painting, coating, surface finish and insulation disciplines requested by Contractor and provide recommendations on the matter.
* Acts as technical focal point for his field of domain.
* Performs similar other or related duties as and when assigned by Site QAQC Manager.
* Support the rest of the team and propose alternative courses of action, wherever possible, to facilitate efficient project progress.
* Participates in QAQC and Technical meetings as required by Site QAQC Manager to keep abreast with all issues relating to the Project.
* Discuss and review opportunities for the optimization of assigned work programs
Provide process engineering support for product finishing systems. Will maintain and monitor manufacturing coating application systems; quality standards, process improvements, and capital equipment upgrades. Troubleshoot coatings application problems; maintain written programs to monitor processes and quality. Technical consultant dealing with OSHA, ANSI, SSPC, NACE and MIL standards. Have specific knowledge of blasting, paint and maintenance shop procedures as they relate to the refurbishment upgrades of various oil & gas equipment and systems.
