I am working as a Self Employed Professional as a Structural/Civil Engineer with Worley Parsons at Jackpine Mine Site, Fort McMurray, Canada. The main responsibilities of my current job are monitoring and review of construction activities in field to make sure that they are performed as per approved drawings and standards. Prior to that, I worked as an Engineer for Fluor Constructors at CNRL Horizon project, Fort McMurray, Canada.
Prior to TCI, I worked as a Structural Engineer with EPCOR, a utility company in the area of Power Generation. The main responsibilities of my job were to provide engineering support for maintenance activities required at various power plant owned by EPCOR. I was responsible for design, procurement and construction required.
Prior to EPCOR, I worked as a Structural Engineer with Bantrel Company (subsidiary of Bechtel) in the field of Pipelines Design, Steel Structures and Foundation Design. All the projects I worked were Oil Sands related.
Prior to Bantrel, I worked as a Structural Engineer with SDP Engineering Inc., Hamilton, ON for many international projects. I mainly worked in the areas of Structural Design and Finite Element Analysis (FEA) for Steel Industry and Automobile Plants. I was responsible for incorporating FEA in company's design cycle. My contribution to the design cycle resulted in renewal of contracts with many reputed clients of the company. This also generated a new line of business for SDP Engineering. One of the FEA projects for Dofasco Steel Plant; ON was quoted on Algor's (software manufacturer) website.
Before pursuing my Master's of Applied Science Degree in Structural Engineering from University of Waterloo, I worked for Multi-Tech Engineers in the field of Construction Management. While at Multi-Tech, I was responsible for mentoring employees to ensure construction of a 300-bed hospital building within available budget and time, while ensuring the highest quality of construction. The project was completed within 88% of allocated budget.
