Description: BLENDING CHEST CONTROL USING DIGITAL CONTROLLER
Major project was done at the Hindustan Newsprint Limited (HNL), Vellor, kottayam. Different verities of pulp for the preparation of paper are mixed at fixed proportions in the BLENDING CHEST The project work was to control the pulp level in the BLENDINGCHEST by using a digital controller (MOORE Controller). A set of five controllers, one PID and four RATIO controllers, connected in cascade form the heart of the project.

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY:

INDUSTRIAL EXPERIENCE

Currently working as calibration and loopchecking incharge of utility area for RasGas train6/7 project. Rgx6/7 or the RasGas train6/7 is one of the world's biggest capacity LNG producing train having a capacity of 7.8 MTA for each train. My scope in this project was, first to conduct the calibration of vender skid instruments in utility area and later to perform loop checking and pre commissioning activity for the same utility area.
The utility area comprised of GTG (Gas Turbine Generators), Steam and condensate system including Boilers and HRSG, Fuel gas system, Fresh water system, Instrument air compressor and Nitrogen make up area.

Responsibility:
o Raise work permits for calibration and loop checking activity.
o Ensure all the calibration and loop checking activates are undertaken as per the level of quality and HSE standard.
o Conduct and coordinate calibration and loopchecking of all type of Temperature, Pressure, Flow, Level and Analyzer transmitters and Gages, and also for control valve and ON/OF valves o Conduct spec check of PRV, orifice, thermowell, etc.
o Study and explain P&ID and ILD for enabling smooth work progress o Provided support for SAT test of control panels and function test of control philosophy.
o Conducted calibration and loop checking of all transmitters, valves, fire detectors and burner elements for four Macchi boilers o Make the execution of calibration, loop checking and pre-commissioning/commissioning activities with due consideration for safety, technical, quality, cost and achieving smooth hand over to the operating company.
o To coordinate with plant group and assist to troubleshoot and start up.

Hi-Tech Engineering is a contracting company doing the maintenance work in

Hindustan Newsprint Limited (HNL). HNL is a public sector undertaking under the administrative jurisdiction of the department of heavy industries, Government of India. Raw material is made to pulp and Different verities of pulp for the preparation of paper are mixed at fixed proportions in the BLENDING CHEST and made to paper.
During this training period we were allowed to conduct a detailed study on different plants of HNL. In this detailed plant study the various controlling mechanisms employed in the plant and there working was also included
My scope in this project was as following, o Co-ordinate the maintenance activity in the running plant.
o Plan and coordinate safe working conditions as per the safety conditions during the shutdown period.
o Process variable measuring instruments installation, wiring and impulse line making calibration and maintenance.
o Understanding control valve characteristics, configuration and overhauling.
