Programme/ Planning Officer, Planning Monitoring & Evaluation
* Conducted Evaluation of Project Proposals: As a member of the Technical Evaluation Committee (TEC), provided evaluation and recommendations on environmental projects such as the Rural Piped Water projects.
* Developed a Monitoring Framework/ System Update for Country Programme Results Monitoring: for the 2006-2010 programme cycle.
* Participated in environmental health project reviews with the Project Cooperation Agreement Committee (PCAC): over 30 projects in areas ranging from water environment sanitation to health, hygiene and emergency.
* Provided analytical support towards planning, coordination and implementation of the United Nations Joint Initiative (UNJI): The project encompassed joint/ harmonized interventions, by 5 leading UN agencies, in several areas including environment and health, in two districts.
* Contributed to the Cost Analysis Studies of 3 Projects (ongoing): provided recommendation towards streamlining of study design. Coordinated the finalization of the projects' design.
* Conducted Various Performance Analyses: Conducted an analysis of the Regular Resource (RR) and Staffing Trends in UNICEF Bangladesh, for the last two programme-cycles. Compiled a summative document on the HIV/AIDS emphases in the 2007 Programme Priorities: with respect to 2007's achievements, constraints, lessons learnt and 2008's Focus.

* Conducted a study on Climate Change and its Effects on Selected Business Sectors of Bangladesh. The Focus of the study was on environmental health, energy efficiency, Greenhouse Gas emission mitigation options, and policy.
* Conducted a baseline study that accurately gauges/ represents the actual hygiene practice/ prevalence in rural districts. The study was to provide the Hygiene baseline for the National Water Sanitation and Hygiene program.
* Evaluated a national pilot project on Medical Waste Management in one of the largest Hospitals in the country.
* Provided baseline, analysis and technical inputs towards Planning and Implementation of the Hygiene component of the largest Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) program in the country, to address concerns in monitoring, implementation; assessed needs and gaps in hygiene promotion activities, community needs and health message appropriation.
* Represented BRAC in the Annual Environmental Country Assessment of Bangladesh, 2005-2006.
* Mobilized rural communities, mobilized government, non-government, civil society and public-sector stakeholders, and developed research tools, trained research assistants and data collection teams, and monitored data quality – in all environmental health projects.

* Provided technical input and coordinated dialogue between UNICEF and the Consultants who established the Water Resources Geographic Information System (GIS) in Garissa district. Analyzed the scope and constraints of scaling up GIS, from the perspective of the field/district level.
* Evaluated the Water Quality Monitoring Plans at district level.
* Evaluated School Water Environment and Sanitation Projects in one district.
* Provided environmental guidelines and technical assistance to projects on: drilling boreholes, installing latrines and providing hygiene education; in providing both supply and non-supply assistance to counterparts at the district and sub-district level, as well as to the contractors. Assisted the Chief of Water and Sanitation section in situation analysis, needs assessments, community mobilization, work-planning, field/ project evaluations, and the annual review ¯ all under the guidelines of the Rights Based Approach to programming.
* Worked with the Education, Health and Nutrition, Planning and Communication sections in the development of a proposal on Water Sanitation & Hygiene in Schools, funded by the Dutch Government, to support the Education Sector Development Plan.
