Employed as "Principal Safety Engineer" since 2001.
My major job responsibilities include leading a team of Engineers and Designers in performing the following design and engineering activities for Conceptual, FEED (Front End Engineering Design), Basic Engineering, Detailed Engineering and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) Phases of various Oil and Gas, Offshore & Onshore Projects, within budgeted man-hours and Project schedules:
- Process Safety / Technical Safety Design & Engineering: Preparation / review of technical safety deliverables on assigned projects including project safety design philosophy, project HSE plan, plot plan / equipment layout, design of active & passive fire protection systems for hydrocarbon handling area and buildings / enclosures including fire water / foam systems, inert gas (Inergen, FM-200 & CO2) systems, development of fire proofing zone layouts, hazardous area classification, fire & gas detector layouts, fire & gas cause & effect charts, escape route layouts, personnel safety / life saving equipment layouts, fire fighting equipment layouts, safety sign layouts, development of technical specifications, requisitions and procurement of personnel safety, life saving and fire fighting equipment.
- Loss Prevention / Safety Studies: For applying the hazard & effect management process to significant project risks. These include participation in Hazard & Operability (HAZOP) Studies, Hazard Identification (HAZID) Studies, Safety Integrity Level (SIL) Assessment Studies, Project Health, Safety and Environmental Reviews (PHSER), Project Technical Reviews, preparation / review / coordination of Fire Water System Hydraulic Simulation Studies, F & G Detection / Mapping Studies, Fire, Explosion & Dispersion Modelling Studies, Consequence Analysis, Risk Assessment Studies, Escape, Evacuation and Rescue Assessment (EERA) Studies, Emergency System Survivability Assessment (ESSA) Studies and Health Safety and Environmental Impact Assessments (HSEIA).

- Process Design & Engineering: Process design & engineering of offsite storage terminals / facilities and road / rail transportation facilities for refineries, petrochemical and gas processing plants and including preparation of process design basis, process flow diagrams (PFD's), process & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID's), equipment & instruments datasheets and cause & effect charts.
- Pre-commissioning and Commissioning: Development of operating manuals, pre-commissioning / commissioning procedures / documents, participation in pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
