Professional Experience: Magcobar mud school Houston, Texas 1973.
*1973-1975: Worked Gulf coast area of Texas and Louisiana for Magcobar, both land and offshore locations, exposed to many different types of problems and mud systems.
*1976-1980: Worked with primarily oil mud systems for Oil Base Inc., based out of Houma Louisiana & Lorado Texas for 2 years, then transferred overseas to North Sea area, based in Great Yarmouth England and Aberdeen Scotland, working various water base mud systems offshore, North Sea.
*1981-1991: Worked as an independent mud engineer, out of Lafayette, Louisiana. Exposed to all different types of problems associated with on and offshore Gulf of Mexico area, using various water and oil mud systems.
*1991- JULY 1997: Worked primarily overseas for MI Drilling Fluids, mostly on a 28 and 28 day rotation. Areas worked: Offshore Congo, 1 year; N. Russia, 1 year; Turkmenistan, 1 year; Middle East 3 years. Plus time spent working in Tunisia, Ecuador, Holland, and filling in occasionally for MI domestic, USA. Used various mud systems as needed for each particular job.
*AUGUST 1997 TO JULY 1998: Worked for Larmag - Cheleken JV (Dragon Oil subsidiary), on a joint venture with the Turkmenistan government. Mostly workover operations, working with brines and drilling mud. Offshore Caspian Sea area. Project ends in August 1998.
*SEPTEMBER 98 TO DECEMBER 98: Worked for MI Drilling Fluids, Dubai. Various mud jobs, oil base and water base systems, including horizontal wells in Oman for Japex, & also offshore Dubai for Conoco.
*JANUARY 1999 TO DECEMBER 99: Mud consultant based in Lafayette, La.
*DECEMBER 1999 TO APRIL 2000: Worked 2 exploratory wells offshore Pakistan for Ocean Energy. Dry holes, project cancelled. Polymer systems.
*APRIL 2000 TO NOVEMBER 2001: Mud consultant based in Lafayette, La. Working primarily for Newpark Drilling Fluids, New Iberia La. Worked various land and offshore jobs.
*DECEMBER 2001 TO SEPTEMBER 2002: Worked for MI as a mud consultant in Kazakhstan, work was for Preussag, German operator. Great Wall (Chinese) drilling contractor. Saturated salt/KCL Polymer mud systems.
*SEPTEMBER 2002 TO JANUARY 2003: Mud consultant based in Lafayette, La.
*FEBRUARY 2003 TO APRIL 2003: Working for MI as a mud consultant in Kazakhstan, Saturated salt/KCL polymer mud systems.
*MAY 2003 TO MAY 2004: Working for MI as a mud consultant in Turkmenistan, OBM, on a month on/off rotation. Oil based and KCL mud systems. Operator Burren Energy.
*JUNE 2004 THRU NOVEMBER 2004: Working for MI-California on land jobs for Oxy near Bakersfield. Mostly polymer & synthetic systems.
*DECEMBER 2004 THRU FEBRUARY 2005: Working for Newpark Drilling Fluids, Offshore Fourchon, La, oil based mud.
*MARCH 2005 THRU MAY 2005: Worked land jobs for operator Goodrich Oil co, North East Texas, polymer based systems.
*JUNE 2005 THRU AUGUST 2005: Worked overseas, Ecuador for MI drilling fluids, jungle job near Cocoa, for Occidental Petroleum. Polymer type mud systems.
*SEPT. 2005 THRU DEC. 2005: Worked domestic for Newpark Drilling Fluids, land job for Fife Energy in Broussard, Louisiana. Polymer & Lime based mud systems.
*FEB. 2006 THRU MAY 2007: Worked 4 deep wells thru Ambar/Lonestar Drilling Fluids for El Paso Oil company, from Lake Arthur Louisiana to Abbeville La. Used both OBM and water based systems with polymers, KCL, lime and soltex.
*JUNE THRU SEPTEMBER. 2007: Turnkey mud work for Grey Wolf drilling company for various operators, South Louisiana. Mostly lignosulfonate/polymer systems.
*DECEMBER THRU JANUARY 2008: Worked Saudi Arabia for Aramco/Baroid water & oil based mud systems.
*February thru March, 2008: Working domestic USA, South Louisiana, for Krescent Energy. Problem well, water base mud, high pressure & lost circulation problems. Well logged & ready for production.
*March thru April, 2008: Land job for Castex Energy, Paradis, La. CLS system, high torque problems, used gilsonite & glycol based additives.
*April thru August 2008: Mud consultant based in Mary Esther Florida, various jobs in Jay Florida (Horizontal drilling), Ft Worth Texas area (Horizontal, shale drilling), and offshore Cameron Louisiana, using 3% glycol in water based/lime systems.
*September 2008 thru December 2008: Working thru Newpark Drilling Fluids for Oxy projects in Colorado & Utah, USA.
*January 2009 thru February 2009: Working for Bill Pruitt & associates on Grey Wolf turnkeys, South Louisiana.
*March 2009 thru present: Mud consultant, based in Mary Esther Florida, USA.
