OCCUPATIONAL HISTORY:
Mar ‘04 - present Senior Executive Geologist, Malaysia-Thailand JDA, CPOC, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. (Seconded from Petronas to Carigali-PTTEPI Joint Operating Company (CPOC) for 1 year assignment)
Development geologist within a multidisciplinary team established to quantify the concession’s HIIP for 3 ‘green’ fields and potential ‘marginal’ discoveries. Project includes verification of previous geological mapping, establish reservoir depositional environment(s), and construct stochastic model (Roxar RMS).
Oct '02 – Mar ‘04 Senior Geologist, Petronas Carigali Snd Bhd (PCSB), Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Working as a member of the Exploration Group (XPG), I was seconded to the Development Department (DD) to work the offshore Sabah Tembungo field for Sabah Operations (SBO-Asset). Geological work included detailed facies analysis of some 30 wells into a 3 dimensional framework, petrophysical analysis, biostratigraphic review, semi-regional sequence stratigraphic incorporation, and volumterics as part of a field development plan. Close work with the Team geophysicist insured that the 3D seismic interpretation was properly incorporated. A stochastic model, using Roxar’s RMS software, was constructed to properly map the turbidite reservoir facies and calculate field volumetrics.
Jan '00 – Jan ‘02 Senior Geologist, Kuwait Foreign Petroleum Exploration Company (KUFPEC), Kuwait City, Kuwait.
As a member of the newly formed New Ventures asset team, our mission includes evaluating and potentially acquiring prospective hydrocarbon acreage outside of the state of Kuwait within several 'focus countries' where KUFPEC do not have existing equity. These countries include Malaysia, Thailand, Myannmar, Iran, Libya, and Algeria. Work responsibilities include data room visits and evaluations, farm-in reviews, technical report writing, basin evaluations, Kuwait national employee geology training,
Dec ‘96 – Mar ‘99 Director of Geology, Texaco Slask Sp z oo (Poland), London, England.
Obtained internal approval for appropriation request for Texaco’s first international coal-bed methane (CBM) project. Formed Poland based geological team to generate government required Geological Work Program and monitor well-site activities. Selected geological consultants for the drilling of 8 CBM wells; 4 core wells, 4 drilled wells, with 5 of the wells completed as CBM production wells (a 5-spot pilot well production test). Initiated and worked with consultants and Texaco specialists in constructing reservoir simulation models. Work responsibilities also included direct supervision of 3 geological staff members, as well as represent management when they were out of office.
Oct ‘94 - Dec ‘96 Senior Geologist, Texaco Exploration Offshore Bulgaria Ltd., London, England.
Appraisal geologist evaluating the commercial exploitation potential of a ‘marginal’ gas discovery drilled by Texaco C.E.D. Exploration group. Project included field mapping of correlative reservoir strata, analysis of 3-D seismic data for gas charged reservoirs, reservoir volumetrics, initiating and chairing partner technical work group meetings, government liaison on technical issues, generation of 3-D reservoir geologic models for reservoir simulation, appropriation request generation and obtaining necessary approvals, and contracted consultants selection and monitoring.
Aug '90 - Oct ‘94 Senior Geologist, Texaco Limited, London, England.
Exploration and appraisal geologist to improve Company's asset portfolio within its' existing North Sea Core Area. Represented Company at operated and non-operated technical committee meetings. Recommended and monitored exploration and appraisal drilling activities and reported results to local and corporate management. Recommended and monitored consultants on biostratigraphic studies, single and multi-well studies, and drilling operations. Supervised and trained junior geological technical staff. Co-ordinated, and participated in, multi-discipline team developing an integrated reservoir evaluation study. Co-ordinated activities, implemented tactical plans, and assisted in developing strategic plans for core area assets.
1Jul '92 - Oct '92 Senior Reservoir Geologist (1special assignment), Texaco LA-WA,Calgary, Canada and Houston, Texas.
As part of a multi-disciplinary team, performed a critical review of existing interpretations for two major reservoirs, developed reservoir depositional models, and evaluated reservoir volumetrics, recovery efficiency, and geological risks of a potential major asset equity acquisition. Documented findings recommendations, and presented final results to executive management.
