OTHER SKILLS
Teamwork: My job in Western Geco has enhanced my already well developed teamworking skills. I recognise the importance of team work with respect to a smoothly running acquisition team. I have also had good reports on my team working efforts while on courses with this company. At university we undertook many field trips and group presentations as assessments for part of our modules, in which teamwork was an essential requirement. During my second year at university, I became a member of the L.U.U.E.S.S(Leeds University Union Earth Sciences Society) committee. As a committee, we organised all of the social events run in our department.
Responsibility: My position in the field, working as a QC, is obviously a responsible position. Whilst working in the office in Gatwick, I am the first Land Seismic Engineer to join a Survey Evaluation and Design group.
My position in the L.U.U.E.S.S committee was field secretary and I was primarily responsible for the organisation and logistics of any field trips.
Computing: I am competent and confident using computer languages such as Unix, due to modular learning. Due to working as a QC, and courses I have attended, I have also learnt set computer software for land acquisition systems and data processing.
I am also proficient in using Microsoft systems.
Communication: I believe I have good communication skills. This is one of several areas that has been highlighted as a strong skill, whilst working in Western Geco. I have also undertaken oral and visual presentations in my time at university, as well as the communication skills acquired through being a lifeguard.
Driving: I have a full, clean British drivers licence.
INTERESTS
I have always had a keen interest in swimming, and represented Hampshire in ASA events. From there I became a fully qualified lifeguard, and then went on to become a qualified assistant swimming teacher.
I have always been interested in the outdoors, and have been on many adventure holidays, in many different environments, including a hiking holiday around Europe.
I lived in Saudi Arabia when I was younger and since then have been to many countries. I enjoy travelling and finding out about different cultures and ways of life.
