- Further engagement by Eurest Support Services as chief engineer to their Facilities Management operations in Kazakhstan (four sites). Re-aligned CMMS (Datastream) implementation to meet management and reporting objectives, identify inefficiencies and propose improvements. Set up maintenance planning and preventive maintenance schedules for utilities systems. Set up skills training schedule and outline procedures for equipment servicing. Prepared and issued technical specifications and quality standards for sub-contracted work. Prepared and issued method statements/procedures/flow diagrams/'punch lists' to facilitate completion and handover of construction work. Prepared defects/damages reports and procedures. Provided technical support and mentorship to the four FM managers and staff. Assignment completed in December 2006
- Further engagement by Whassan Eurest Support Services as Facilities Management Mentor embedded within Chevron Nigeria Ltd Facilities Management department in Lagos, Nigeria. Set up training needs analysis and training courses for FM staff. Initiated improvements in FM department utilisation of CMMS (JD Edwards). Assignment completed in May 2008

- Engaged by Shell Services to secure and project manage service implementations, primarily into the metals industry sector. Lead survey team for Danish Steel mini-mill project. Secured and supported lubrication services contract with Jamalco alumina refinery project (Jamaica) using Shell Lubriplan. Maintenance consultant for CPI Foods maintenance audit and proposal (Thailand). Supported successful Deacero mini-mill fluid management survey and proposal (Mexico). Managed parallel startup of embedded NDT services contracts in two UK aluminium castings factories. Supported startup of parallel fluid management services contracts in two Italian automotive components factories, with specific responsibility for implementation, providing management information and end-user training in CMMS (MRO MAXIMO) (Italian language). Assignments completed in April 2004

- Engaged by WS Atkins Consultants on behalf of overseas client to prepare technical part of EPC contract to purchase (as joint-venture partner) a 2 million tonne/year steel plant under construction in Inner Mongolia. Initial assignment completed in July 2000.
- Continued with same client to assess potential suppliers for turn-key cold mill project in China.
Steel Engineers & Consultants
- Engaged by Steel Engineers & Consultants on behalf of Gunawan Iron and Steel Sdn. Bhd. to supervise dismantling, packing and shipping of used steelplant lime kiln in Bagnoli, Italy for re-commissioning in Malaysia. Approved dismantling contractor's method and planning. Inspected equipment before and after dismantling. Checked packing and documentation. Assignment completed in June 1997 including one year residence on site
- Continued engagement by Steel Engineers & Consultants on behalf of PTB Westwharf Sdn. Bhd. to manage negotiations with Italian client for purchase of two used ship unloaders and spares in Bagnoli, Italy for their Malaysian client. Assignment completed in October 1997.
Continued engagement by Steel Engineers & Consultants on behalf of PTB Westwharf Sdn. Bhd. to produce tender documents for above ship unloader dismantling, shipping and reconstruction in Malaysia, and to manage and close contract negotiations. Scope of work included identification, specification and purchasing of replacement components as well as refurbishment of used components. Scope included preparation of Dismantling Safety and Health Plan to meet Italian HSE legislation. Assignment completed in March 1999 including 2 1/2 years residence on site in Italy and Malaysia.
- Concurrent engagement by Steel Engineers & Consultants on behalf of Metal Investments Ltd. to project-manage negotiations and letting of demolishing contract for used steelplant equipment in Linz, Austria. Enquiry documents and contract conditions prepared; enquiries issued and replies evaluated. Assignment completed in January 1998
- Concurrent engagement by Steel Engineers & Consultants on behalf of Metal Investments Ltd. to manage negotiations for purchase of used steel rolling mill in Sweden, and to produce dismantling tender documentation. Assignment completed in February 1998.
- Further engagement by Steel Engineers on behalf of Japanese client to carry out technical 'due diligence' study on galvanising product line in Venezuela. Assignment completed December 1999.

- Maintenance Consultant for implementation of TEROMAN maintenance management software package. Installations and consultancy carried out in Belgium, France, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Holland, Italy, Indonesia, USA, Canada, New Zealand, Abu Dhabi, Austria, Spain, Switzerland. Clients supported directly included Esso, Shell, Statoil, Total, BP Oil, BP Chemicals, Sandoz, Agip, Enichemica, ENI, Ensidesa, Repsol, Weyerhaeuser, Mead, BNFL, QGPC, ADNOC, Adgas. Consultancy and training given on sites in French/Italian languages where appropriate.
- Appointed Customer Services Manager for all aspects of TEROMAN implementation and support. Specified and managed development of equipment reliability software application. Paper given on maintenance management software at 1996 Maintenance Conference in Bahrain.
- Appointed Development Manager for UK participation in USA-led development of client-server replacement for TEROMAN.
1973 - 1984 W.S.Atkins and Partners (MMI Epsom)
- Project Engineer resident in Algeria for new 500,000 tpy Soviet rod and bar mill installation in Annaba, Algeria. Took over from client's manager as project manager integrated into client's management team. Took over as site engineer for construction up to cold testing and handover. Project length seven years (completed 1980).
- Project Manager for EDF-funded steelplant feasibility study in Benin, West Africa. Project length six months (completed 1980)
- Project Manager for inspection services contract for rolling mill under construction in UK for Finnish client. Project length one year (completed 1982)
- Project Manager for maintenance workshop and procedures study for opencast phosphate mine in Jordan. Project length nine months (completed 1984) including three months residence on site.
- Project Consultant resident in Libya assigned to Libyan national steel company to assist and advise on construction and acceptance of new integrated port, power station and steelplant construction in Misurata, Libya. Assignment (eighteen months) completed in 1984.
