WORK EXPERIENCE
Jan 1990 – Feb 1999: SHELL OIL COMPANY, Cameroon
Production / Surveillance Engineer
(Sandstone Reservoir – Offshore Gulf of Guinea, West Africa)
Conducted Production Engineering, Reservoir Surveillance and Management, Drilling and Wellsite support activities over the years. Realized single and selective new well completions and workovers for numerous wells. Evaluated well performance and generated models, recommended optimization processes and/or remedial operations. Prepared required well and/or project reports, proposals and technical justifications for AFE's/ Management approval. Provided technical assistance for gas lift optimization; - design, revisions, sensitivities and allocation, well and facility system modeling for surface facility modifications and de-bottlenecking programs: Averaged an incremental ±50 to 100 BOPD for 95% of gas lift jobs. Coordinated the Gas-lift team/charter. Investigated and performed numerous acid matrix techniques and treatment. Recommended (team) new unloading guidelines to reduce emulsion-facility upset, spills and downtime after acidizing wells. Participant who set-up proposals and implementation for field Reservoir Management. Validated reservoir and production data for field depletion plan. Troubleshoot well problems, including use of nodal analysis, pressure transients flow and build up data. Performed decline curve analysis and production forecast. Evaluated logs and well data for perforations, cement integrity, residual oil, production, etc. Monitored and recommended daily water injection rates (DIR) to maximize field production. Carried out preliminary onsite log interpretation, lithological description and transmitted logs during drilling. Monitored and reported drilling parameters. Coordinated biannual Well Review Workshops. Enforced safety and corrective action as a team for all activities.
July 2000 – Oct 2001: VERMILION REP SA., France / Canada
Consultant Engineer (Subsurface) / Workovers and Completion
(Carbonate Reservoir – Offshore/Onshore Parentis/Paris Basins)
Performed production engineering duties through effective new well completions, re-completions, workovers and other simulation-derived recommendations. Responsibilities included but were not limited to enhancing production investigations, design, planning, appraisal techniques and tools for wellbore utilization, materials, equipment, and services for well interventions for mature fields' producing wells, water injectors, shut-in and P&A candidates. Generated oil recovery improvement (IOR/EOR) projects to maximize cash flow. Reviewed technical proposals and performed look-back analysis on newly drilled and completed wells. Recommended review of drilling fluids across payzone to optimize completion. Designed several well stimulation and intervention (acid, frac jobs, and coil tubing) programs. Realized an initial +2 to 5 fold incremental production prior to subsequent water influx. Investigated and recommended artificial lift methods to optimize production and cost. Recommended and justified several workovers with a +85% success rate.
Nov 2001 – June 2002: ZETAH, MAUREL & PROM, Congo
Operations Lead (Onshore, Kouilou/Kouakouala/Pointe Indienne)
Represented and provided technical leadership for onshore production (heavy oil) and transportation in the Republic of Congo. Technical liaison between partners, government officials and contractors. Directed field development engineering initiatives, planning, cost control, resource allocation and budgeting. Managed a $13 MM (USD) budget for field development, facility modification, procurement, and project expenses. Directed operations with 22 employees (ex-pat and national staff), and ~31 contractors. Commenced the M'Boundi (new development) early production facility (EPF) development and field/civil construction. Supervised the realization of an ~48 km of 6"/12" pipeline network from onshore KKL field to Djeno terminal and the commissioning of the pipeline and its pumping stations. Ensured operating and maintenance guidelines, procedures and/or waivers were in place prior for designed operations. Ensured basic safety awareness for all (employees and contractors), and continuously monitored, evaluated people's focus and resources available to effect continuous improvement. Assigned and scheduled employment and staff training. Reduced crude oil transportation and logistic cost by ~30%. Oversaw field operations with zero employee lost time accidents. Accomplished simultaneous projects in time and at ~15% less than budget. Introduced and implemented HSE as standard practice. Initiated and implemented an Operations' On-Call Program for daily operations and emergencies. Upgraded boiler and heating facilities to acquire ³90°C, to reduce salt crystallization and pour point, and backpressure at heater entrant and production manifold and flow lines. Initiated and submitted a weekly Operations activity report to Corporate and Congo office.
Jan 2003 – Present: LONG ENGINEERING INC. / JOSH ENVIRO TECH., U.S.A.
Geologist / QA/QC Inspector (Geotechnical and Environmental Projects)
QA/QC Field Inspector in charge of materials testing of earthwork (light weight, surge and soil materials), asphalt and concrete, inspection of reinforced steel and piping for utility, monitoring and reporting of site construction operations such as roads and pavements, excavation and embankment, mechanically stabilized embankment (MSE) walls, pipeline and utilities (for storm drains and culverts, underdrains, slope drains, sanitary and sewers, and water lines), wet areas/land and slope stabilization, catch basins and retention ponds, and tunneling for the Maynard H. Jackson International Terminal (MHJIT), Atlanta Airport.
Assisted in the phase II environmental site(s) assessment of underground water contamination around the Chattahoochee and 14th Street, Atlanta Water Treatment Facility and environs. Evaluated the groundwater quality, potential hazardous contaminants, extent or severity of contamination and migration of contaminants towards a sensitive receptor. Participated in the Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) investigation of underground sub-grade collapse at Cain's Hill Rd, Atlanta.
Other projects included: I-285 Bridge Construction for the 5th Runway and Taxiway – Hartsfield/Jackson Atlanta International Airport, Atlanta West Area Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) Tunnel Facilities Project and some Atlanta Public Schools.
