Sr. Safety Supervisor / Manager, BMDO Test Bed Project
The primary duty of the position was to manage the sub-contractors in all aspects of health, safety and environmental. This was accomplished by: Held startup meetings on their safety programs and making sure they complied with all Fluor safety policies and contractual requirements. Taught classes to handle the potential work site contaminates and the proper procedures for disposal. Managed the emergency response team for both employee injuries and contaminates. Conducted extensive training classes for all employees on and the correct precautions to be taken when unexploded ordnance were discovered on the island, also covered the areas that were considered off-limits. Performed air monitoring on all excavation sites for detection of contaminates.
Other duties were to keep the Army Core of Engineers apprised of all activities pertaining to the projects safety and weekly audits. Meetings were performed in advance of any new task where there might be a risk of injury to a worker. Maintained all medical records of employees on site. Provided security for all Fluor and sub-contracted employees. Conducted weekly inspections and audits of all sub-contractor's equipment and Fluor job site activities for office and field employees

Safety Supervisor, Oil Field Project
Responsible for providing safety and training on oil field construction projects and the reporting of any accident or injury to the employee or property. Daily reports on safety issues were delivered to the client and the headquarters of Veco Alaska. I conduct safety meetings on a weekly basis along with a daily toolbox meeting. Lead a safety committee comprised of the employees, which meet once a week to discuss safety issues. We took these issues and acted upon them. This led to a zero incident rate and an better working relationship between the safety department and the employees. I also have put into place a weekly safety audit sheet, which is checked every day to insure that we are in compliance with OSHA standards.

Lead the safety program for new pipeline construction projects. These functions consisted of having startup meetings with the clients. Organizing the union craft hands on their orientations and startup procedures. I also conducted weekly safety meetings, and managed all reporting of safety stats to the client. I coordinated a safety incentive program between the client and the sub-contractors. Held mandatory meetings on Job Hazard Analysis, Phase Hazard Analysis, and Authorization to Proceed with management and employees. These are procedures that involve the crew participating in the planning of task to be performed. This gave everyone a voice on safety concerns. Audits were performed on the other projects and evaluations passed on to the management of the company with my recommendations on changes.

This is a company that I owned and operated for 17 years. Contract work for oil field service companies was my main focus. Halliburton and Brown & Root would sub-contract me to do various projects. During the clean-up of the Valdez oil spill I moved the company to Valdez and picked up the maintenance on the barges being used for support in the clean-up of the sound. We worked closely with Alyeska safety department. Performed periodic maintenance with Crowley, Tidewater and Sampson Tug & Barge. I also held a Coast Guard welding certificate during this time.

I was also responsible for inspections throughout the site. Presented weekly progress reports and internal audits for hospital staff and project management.
