Description: Lump Sum / Turnkey EPCC Contract for a grassroots electrical power generation plant consisting of eight GE frame 7's w/HRSG's for a total production of 2,250Mw.
Responsibilities included: assist the Construction Manager in overseeing the total day to day construction and project administration effort to ensure the project has proper staffing, equipment and support. Assist with staffing (hiring, termination, promotion, transferring, salary, and performance evaluation of all project field construction personnel. Ensure timely supply of company owned and third party rental construction equipment to site. Support Vice President, Project Management to ensure construction portion of project achieves schedule and budget goals. Assure site compliance with safety and QA/QC programs. Provide construction input to proposals, estimates, and budgets. Assist with constructability reviews of engineering/design effort and provide timely adjustments as needed.

Responsibilities included: manage the planning and execution of daily construction activities for the installation of all mechanical equipment in a manner to ensure the safe completion of the work activities with the highest possible workmanship, while assuring budget and time constraints. Plan the most efficient availability and use of construction equipment, manpower and other resources. Assure the production of daily, weekly, and monthly progress reports, as well as reviewing and approving monthly invoices from sub-contractors.
Project: Ethylene / Polyethylene Malaysia Title: Sr. Construction Engineer
Description: Project Management Consultants Contract for the construction of a 330,000 MT/yr Ethylene Production Facility, 220,000 MT/yr Polyethylene Production Facility, Marine Berthing Facilities and all necessary utilities.
Responsibilities included: ensuring the safe execution of quality work, timely flow of data, resource and productivity balancing, availability of appropriate plans and manageable construction schedules, informing construction managers of areas for concern and current status of construction efforts, through assuring Contractors' use of appropriate policies and procedures. Responsibilities crossed all disciplines, throughout all areas of the facilities.
Project: Omar Phase III - Deir Ez Zor, Syria Title: Chief Field Engineer
Description: Turnkey Contract of a 90,000 bbl/day oil field recovery preprocessing facility, with water lifts, water treatment, water distribution, water injection, oil dehydration and desalinization, and oil pumping facility.
Responsibilities included: site engineering support, liaison with Home Office Engineering for the timely resolution of design issues, approve client invoices, monitor Contractors construction progress toward timely completion, implement and maintain site policies, procedures and administration, site documentation, as-built drawings, project closeout.

Responsibilities (both projects) included: lead man, number two man on site, liaison with Home Office Engineering Department and Client, direct all Field Engineering activities, allocate and administer all field budgets, schedules and cost codes, Subcontract Administrator, Office Administrator, direct and control the distribution of engineering documents, requisition permanent plant materials, and coordinate with Field Quality Control and Project Engineering in the resolution of technical problems encountered during the construction and start-up phases.
Project: Coastal Power Cogen - Fulton, NY Title: Sr. Project Controls Engineer
Description: Turnkey Contract for a 52?MW natural gas fired combined-cycle turbine generator with a Heat Recovery Steam Generator for supplying steam to a Nestles Chocolate facility located in Fulton, NY.
Project: Indeck Power Cogen-Oswego, NY Title: Project Controls Engineer
Description: Turnkey Contract for a 37?MW natural gas fired combined-cycle turbine generator with a Heat Recovery Steam Generator supplying steam to both a 16?MW steam turbine generator and Hammermill Paper Company located at Oswego, NY.
Responsibilities (both projects) included: monitoring, forecasting, and reporting quantities, costs, manhours, productivity, construction schedule and progress, preparing client invoices, management reports, vendor backcharges, and forecasted or actual variances from budget. As well as monitoring and auditing other Z/N projects throughout the US. Audits were performed to assure that corporate policies and procedures were being implemented and met. Peak personnel: 153 direct and 14 staff. I also returned to this HRSG at Oswego to do a refit, increasing the superheat tube surface area.

Upon completion of my boilermaker's apprenticeship program, I worked in the continental US as a journeyman boilermaker (welder and fitter), with numerous industrial construction firms. My work experience with the Boilermaker's Union was in chemical refinery systems both new construction and refit, electrical power generation both fossil fuel and nuclear. Over this period of time I held positions with increasing levels of responsibility and authority.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
The diversity of my experiences and project locations have created a familiarity with several types of petrochemical refinement systems, water treatment systems, fuel and ash handling systems, environmental protection systems, distributive control systems and various power generation systems. I am quite familiar with project safety, construction methodologies, quality assurance and control, project controls, subcontract administration, start-up and turnover procedures.
I have demonstrated to superiors, colleagues, and subordinates that I possess effective skills in the areas of management, leadership, communication, organization, documentation, program/project development and implementation, employee motivation, community and employee relations, and project morale. I have successfully developed several methods / procedures for measuring, projecting, monitoring and reporting project completion status to internal, corporate, and client level management. My construction experience, education, and computer skills have proven invaluable to both myself and my employers.
I am experienced with Primavera, Open Plan, MC2, ComPIPE, Field MICE, Harvard Total Project Manager, WordPerfect, Word Star, Lotus 1-2-3, Quatro Pro, dBase III+, FoxPro, AutoCad, and I am familiar with several programming languages a few obsolete languages.
