- Successfully commissioned PLC-based Control System and field equipment on SGS Coal Handling System. Project was finished on time and budget, optimized fuel conveying and distribution to the Units, reduced equipment maintenance, and consolidated operator process control. Project team received written recognitions from management and executive staff.
- Successfully commissioned Continuous Emissions Monitoring and Reporting System. Project was finished on time and budget and ensured full environmental compliance with Clean Air Act Amendment, part 75 and NPDS permits. Performed customized hands-on training of Environmental Specialist to expedite generation and issuance of compliance reports to EPA within regulatory reporting requirements.
- Successfully managed Plant Controls Y2K Compliance, Remediation, and Contingency planning. Project was finished on budget, before year 2000 date rollover, and ensured safe and reliable generation. Was appointed to represent Seminole Electric during FRCC Y2K Readiness Committee meetings during Y2K remediation program. Was selected by the power industry Y2K remediation experts to chair 1998 Power GEN Y2K readiness committee panel and present Seminole's project model and remediation progress.
- Developed Units of Property (UOP) definitions and data entry guidelines for diverse procurement specifications templates. Conducted UOP training of multidiscipline engineering, accounting, and procurement staff. Completed detailed assessment of UOP accounting structure and practices and developed recommendations for process improvement and computerized automation. Pending implementation, the recommended process improvements will reduce engineering hours during project planning by approximately 85% and ensure accurate calculations of expense and capital budget for all future projects.
