PERSONAL PROFILE:
I have been working in the construction & building Industry for the past 17 years and my management experience include construction & maintenance for land developments, infrastructure & facilities, as well as improvement of new facilities.
My family and friends know me as a sober person who finds joy in preparing food and as a former farmer, I particularly enjoy sport and the wonders of nature.
As a practical person, my forte is solving problems and thinking logically. I strive to be neat, precise and punctual in my work and self-discipline is the number one priority in my work and life. Loyalty, honesty and responsibility, for me, are virtues.
At present I am 57 years of age, in extremely good health, and joined the construction and plumbing industry following my previous career as a sheep and irrigation crop farmer.
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
In terms of facilities management & maintenance, my management experience includes working on local council and municipal facilities as well as residential housing estate & hotel facilities, school & university facilities, sport club & office complex facilities, restaurant and shopping mall facilities.
I have been a qualified plumber for 12 years and have 17 years experience in the construction and maintenance of water reticulation, water supply, water reservoirs, stormwater, sanitation services, sewerage, wastewater, gas and cabling systems.
In terms of civil construction & maintenance, my experience include managing contractors for soil excavations, soil compaction, Armco rail installations, shuttering, v-channel runoffs, gabions, masts and heavy concrete works such as the construction of retaining walls, slabs, columns, foundations and beams.
My experience as a farmer also comes in handy with facilities management and maintenance, including site rehabilitation and environment management, for example landscaping, grass restoration, planting trees, borehole drilling, kerbing, paving and fencing.
Other experience includes the supervision and managing of a wide range of construction projects such as schools, coastal developments, residential developments (villa's, cottages) and holiday flats.
I am in possession of a valid South African passport (valid till 2015), a police clearance certificate and a valid Code 14 drivers license with PDP certification.
