II. PROFESSIONAL PROFILE
A professional Electrical Engineer with skills and expertise in project, engineering and maintenance management spanning 20 years hands-on and managerial experience in the capacity starting from Project Engineer to Manager at Indian Petrochemicals Corporation (IPCL- An erstwhile Govt of India Enterprise), and as DGM/GM at Reliance Industry (IPCL-RIL, Reliance Group), India. This covered wide ranging functions of Project Management, involving Bid Doc preparation & evaluation, Scoping (WBS), project planning, post-award technical reviews, work distribution & measurement, execution, monitoring & control for Green field & Brownfield projects, and Trouble-shooting of HV/LV electrical equipments, spares management, contract management etc under maintenance management.
Sound appreciation of Engineering based on International codes & standards like IEC, NEC, IEEE etc., procurement, Installation, Commissioning, Quality & HSE with statutory approvals. Wide understanding of client's and contractor's goals. Implemented, and practiced quality systems of TQM, ISO 9K-2K, ISO 14K, & OHSAS 18K upto certification & compliance. III. PRINCIPAL PROJECTS

1. Samsung Engg. Co. Ltd; Korea:
(A) Since Feb 2006: Recently completed, being key Project Team member as Sr. Manager(Control Team), a winning proposal for SECL for a 350 KTPA LLD/HD Swing plant Project in India and 40 KTPA Acrylic project in Korea, and presently working as Sr. Manager (Packaged Equipments) in HQ based Project Team for a 350 KTPA PP Project, in Saudi Arabia. The work mainly involves handling of complete HV/LV Electrical Packages and 250 Mechanical equipments of the project. The activities involved are from RFQ to Vendor offer scrutiny to KOM to Technical Reviews, follow-up, Inspections & Testing in addition to selected "control functions" of this project like execution procedures, risk management, document management and selective input for schedule and cost management and weekly, monthly project performance reporting, internal training, document control, schedule control, change control etc.
2. Indian Petrochemicals Co. Ltd. (Reliance Industries Ltd), India:
(B) 2000 – Jan 2006: As Manager (Engg) took overall charge in Central Design, Modification & Trouble shooting Deptt., and developed new schemes for improving the reliability of plant electrical systems with the help of various software & new staff. Headed then as DGM & GM. Engineered over 200 In-house Schemes. This engineering assignment had major functions as Cost Estimations, Detail engineering & Implementation of FCOs, CAPEX Schemes, Preparation of Purchase / Technical Specs, Scrutiny of Vendor Offers, preparation & review of Drawings under IS/BS/IEC /EIL codes & standards for design.
Development of standard operating & maintenance procedures, reliability improvement plans and executions. Conditioning monitoring, History and trending records in SAP, Failure Investigation & Failure Analysis report (FIR/FAR). Lead the team of 10 engineers, 30 technicians and 100 contract workers from different outsourced services.
Worked as task force member for DHC (Catalyst) plant project ( 10 KTPA) This involved designing, sourcing, execution and commissioning inputs and monitoring as clients sole electrical engineer.
(C ) 1996 -1999: As Dy Project Manager to PM, worked for Expansion of existing LLD/HD plants (80 KTPA TO 140 KTPA using BP's 'Pentane Technology) on Fast-Track basis Scheduled Completion and Expansion of Exisiting Gas Cracker plant (300 KTPA to 400 KTPA) using SWEC technology. The job involved Design reviews, construction & commissioning coordination. Singularly handled spares planning, Documentation & start up of packaged equipments like compressors, Extruders, HV/LV electrical systems etc.
(D) 1993 – 1995: As Sr. Project/ Maintenance Engineer worked for planning and execution of routine maintenance, preventive and predictive maintenence, breakdown maintenance, Trouble-shooting of all HV/LV electrical equipments (220 KV, 11 KV, 6.6 kV, 415 V and single phase) like Generators, Transformers, Switchgears, Motors, UPS, Chargers, VSD etc, Testing & coordination of Protective relays.
(E) 1991 – 1992: As Project Engineer worked for Design review, construction, commissioning of Swing plants project LLDPE/HDPE (80KTPA X 2, BP Chemicals UK License) (1st in India), But-1 ( 15KTPA, IFP France license) and W&C Compound Plant (15 KTPA, BP Chemicals UK License).
(F) 1989 - 1990: As Project Engineer worked for Design review, construction, commissioning of PP (60 KTPA, erstwhile Himont, Italy now Bassel) and LDPE (80 KTPA, erstwhile CDF Chemie, France) projects.
3. Insulators & Electricals Co;and Uptron Color Picture Tubes, India:
(G) 1986 – 1989: Worked as Electrical Engineer for A HT porcelain insulator manufacturering co. (Insulators & Electricals Co;) and Uptron Color Picture Tubes, India. This involved construction, commissioning and maintenance of HV/LV electrical equipments.
IV. SPECIAL ASSIGNMENTS AND TRAINING
1. Deputed to M/s Technip, Lyon, France for review FEED technical specifications for HDPE/LLDPE expansion project in 1996.
2. Have been to M/s BP Chemicals' Grangemouth, UK plant for control system training for LLDPE/HDPE expansion project in 1998.
3. Specialised training on various electrical equipments e.g. UPS, VSD, Chargers, Relays; Project Management, ISO 9K:2K, ISO 14K, TQM, SAP PM, Shell CMT and Global Business Manager (Administrative Staff College, Hyderabad).
4. Successfully completed Six sigma and TQM projects.
V. RECENT DISTINCTIONS & MILESTONES
1. Passed with Distinction Prelim Certification on Korean Language, offered by Seoul University.
2. Have been Human Resource Champion, Outstanding Training Faculty & Excellent Training Faculty awards winner at IPCL-RIL. Rewarded as "Excellent performing Dy General Manager" at IPCL-RIL.
3. Secretary of pilot QIT (TQM Project) at IPCL resulting into saving of over Rs 1 Million PA.
