Contract Management/Project Management

Business Development
- Scanning the environment for business opportunities and improvement in areas of new products and business channels
- Undertaking feasibility studies on local production of ABB products for local and regional markets
MAJOR PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN
* Presently assuming the role of head of costing and contract management for the electrification of the double track from Ipoh – Padang Besar for the electrification system works. Involved in the negotiating and finalizing of contract between GOM, KTMB and MMC-Gamuda JV and MMC-Gamuda JV and the short listed tenderers. The estimated value of this portion of the system works amount to 2.6 Billion Malaysian Ringgit.
* SESCO - Sibu- Engkilili 275 kV Transmission project – led contract management including leading the design and engineering team and site management team to completion
* TNB / MRCB – 500 /275 kV Transmission project - led contract management including leading the design and engineering team and site management team to completion.
* TNB – rehabilitation of 4 Nos of 132/33/11 kV substations and two new 275 kV substation led contract management including leading the design and engineering team and site management team to completion.
* Kapar Power Station – led a team of project manager, design and commissioning engineers to replace the existing power plant control system with a new control system which incorporate new technology.
* Panglima Power Station, Powertek IPP – manage a team of engineers to complete an extension to the existing substation and control systems.
* Sepangar Bay IPP, Sabah – manage a team of project managers, design engineers and commissioning engineers and successfully complete the project in record time for the power plant to be commissioned. This project includes civil works, transmission lines and substations.
* Segari and Genting IPP – participated in the contract negotiation with the IPP to finalise the EPC contracts and subsequently managed the interconnection facilities (covering both transmission lines and substations) of the IPP projects.
SIGNIFICANT ACHIEVEMENTS
* Negotiation team for the financing packages for 2 projects in SESCO, Sarawak and TNB.
* Involved in the negotiation process for other huge projects notably Segari and Genting Sanyen IPPs.
* Appointed as the leader for the TQM/TBM to staff.
* Nominated as a director for ABB Sapura Sdn Bhd from 2002 to 2005
* Encourage staff at all levels to implement and observe ISO 9001 and 14000
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
July 2007 – present NR Sistem Sdn Bhd, (a system integrator cum project manager) for the electrification and control system package for the Electrification of Double Tracking Project between Ipoh and Padang Besar.
As Head of Costs and Contracts, I am responsible for all tender evaluation and contract negotiation. Also responsible contract and cost management for subsequent phases of the 6 year multi Billion Malaysian Ringgit project.
This responsibility includes liaison with TNB (the electrical utility company) and KTMB (the Railway company), Malaysia

Some of the responsibilities include:
* Overseeing the operation of the manufacturing unit of the switchgear segment including the project management and central logistics.
* Responsible for the total engineered package inclusive of design, supply management, contract management, erection and commissioning as well as financial and technical and safety and health and environment areas.
* Oversee all infrastructure projects from supply to loose components only and service to turnkey projects for industrial plants including Oil and Gas complexes to power station projects.
* At the same time I was responsible for the Utility Business Area within the Automation Segment in ASEAN. In this role, the profitability of each operation in each country is equally emphasized, as the long-term presence of ABB capability is to capture any profitable business
* When I was the General Manager for Network Control & Protection business unit (profit center), my responsibilities inclusive of development of the business unit where that year we managed to secure a market share of approximately 75% from an almost non-existence business.
* Developed the new engineering division to acquire more skills through in-house training and attachment of young engineers with our sister companies in other parts of the world.
