Current Position Responsibilities:
Responsible for the project kick-off meeting, outlining owner and project objectives, responding to technical design questions, overall project management and design contractor coordination, responsible for incremental design and constructability reviews, construction project meetings and overall project construction management. Typical projects include single- and multi-family residential, general office, commercial and retail shopping centers. Project construction costs normally in the $2-50 million dollar range. Overall project management responsibility for administration of the project, documenting and communicating design decisions between the owner, project design team and contractors, preparation of the design documents and technical specifications and coordination of the field construction activities. Construction management work required independent evaluation, selection, adaptation and modification of standard construction techniques. Responsible for overseeing project construction schedule, weekly project construction meetings, construction cost tracking, technical quality, and progress status reports. Responsible oversight of field construction superintendent and field construction personnel to ensure timely and efficient execution of work, ensure that all construction is in compliance with design specifications, completed within schedule, adheres to budget, and is constructed to quality workmanship standards. Prepare project cost estimates and contract price (GMP\Lump Sum), negotiate, prepare and issue subcontract bid packages, subcontracts and material purchases, implement job procedures to assure timely buyout, shop drawing review and approvals and material deliveries. Manage scope of work identifying change order (CO) conditions, develop and adhere to project execution plan. Review and process subcontractor submittals, RFI's, ASI's, change orders and pay requests.

The project consisted of a 32F Finished Product Cooler, 38F USDA Production Areas, Dry Ingredient Storage Area, Office and Welfare areas. The building construction consisted of exterior insulated metal panel walls, concrete columns and concrete double tee roof system and a fully adhered single ply membrane roof system. The plant design included full USDA regulatory compliance, process machinery design layout and equipment powering requirements, finished product conveyor, racking systems and refrigeration system design and equipment controls review.
Bar-S Foods / New Processing Facility - Project Manager responsible for the overall design coordination of the civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, refrigeration and electrical design teams and site construction management of a 120,000 SF meat processing facility located in Lawton, OK. Kraft Foods, Inc. / New Regional Distribution Facilities - Project Manager responsible for the A/E design coordination of the civil, architectural, structural, mechanical, refrigeration and electrical design teams for four regional refrigerated distribution facilities. The new refrigerated facilities are located in Aurora, IL, Haslet, TX, Columbus, OH and Bethlehem, PA. The construction of these regional refrigerated distribution warehouses allowed for the consolidation of the finished product to larger, more logistically centered locations. The building construction consisted of both conventional steel frame and tilt-up precast concrete walls, insulated metal panel walls and a mechanically fastened EPDM roof system. The refrigeration system design included rotary screw compressors, condensers and evaporators and computerized control system. The total, under roof area, for the four refrigerated distribution warehouses is approximately 750,000 SF. The refrigerated warehouses were under simultaneous design and were constructed over an eighteen-month (18) period.
Westside Industrial Park / Stone Mountain Industrial Park, Inc. - Project Engineer responsible for all site civil engineering design and regulatory agency permitting for an 861 acre Development of Regional Impact (DRI) mixed-use commercial/industrial park located in Duval County, Florida. The Westside Industrial Park was design and permitted to allow for the construction of 9,000,000 SF of Light Industrial, 2,000,000 SF of General Office and 80,000 SF of Commercial development. The project engineering tasks included preparation of the master development plan, water and sewer plans, grading and drainage plans, roadway system design, storm water transmission and management system design, wetland impact analysis and wetland mitigation plans. Responsible for permitting the project the St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD), the Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE), and the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) and US Fish and Game Commission. Responsible for insuring project design was prepared in accordance with the DRI and City of Jacksonville Development Order stipulations and interfacing with city and state regulatory agencies. Responsible for preparation and review of the engineering plans and surface water management calculations and securing the wetland resource and construction permits for the project. Responsible for construction contract documents and technical specifications, monitoring the project construction schedule, conducting field construction inspections and approving the subcontractor pay requests.
Interstate 295 Widening / Interstate 10 Interchange Improvements / Florida Department of Transportation Project Engineer responsible for storm water system design and environmental permitting for major arterial roadway interchange in Duval County, Florida. Design included storm water runoff calculations, storm water pipe sizing and the design of a detention swale and underdrain system with control discharge structures to provide for water quality and discharge quantity parameters. Responsible for interfacing with the SJRWMD, ACOE and FDEP regulatory agencies to obtain necessary dredge/fill and storm water discharge permits required for the project construction.
