OBJECTIVE:
I am currently seeking employment in the Civil Engineering Discipline in overseas area (Middle East, Africa, and Asia). I am originally from the Middle East State of Jordan and born in Kuwait. I fluently speak the Arabic Language and very familiar with the customs of the area. My current experience consists of 15 years in the construction of roadways and appurtenances, bridge structures, and building construction projects. I also worked the last 5 years in the Bureau of Design as Senior Squad Leader in the PS&E of various types of roadway projects.

This position is accountable for providing construction management of major and several minor highway projects and appurtenances within and out side of Salt Lake City area. Duties of Field Engineer includes overseeing contractor activities to insure proper execution of contracts, inspect construction work on daily basis, monitor and record manpower and equipment used on site, interpretation of contract plans and specifications, review and approve contract submittals, evaluate and negotiate change orders, participate in settlement of contract claims, prepare cost estimates, monitor quality control and safety, verify and approve payment to contractors, monitor on going contract completion costs, and insure the closing of the contract with proper documentation. Managing and training a crew of 4-8 engineers and technicians to assure work is done according to Utah specifications. The total value of work competed up to date 48M.

Construction experience includes removal and replacement of two bridge structures, widening, milling and resurfacing of several existing roadways, new pavement construction, removal and replacement of existing culverts, construction of two new Willow Creek Rest Area buildings (one-story and two-story) on I-39 With Lagoon Sludge Treatment, and bridge painting. Other duties include supervising, counseling and training 2-6 new engineers and technicians, material testing, and documentation of work progress. The Field Resident Engineer oversees contractor activities to insure proper execution of work, Technical interpretation of plans and specifications, Review and approve contractor submittal, prepares cost estimate, prepares and process change orders, participate and evaluate contractor settlement, verify and approves contractor pay estimates and others. The approximate projects value completed is $95 Millions.
