Conception de système de chauffage, ventilation et réfrigération
* Développement d'un modèle de simulation informatique pour le calcul des charges de refroidissement d'un édifice à bureaux de Montréal avec le langage de programmation C++.
* Détermination des quantités de débit d'air et des tailles et capacités de tout l'équipement.
* Utilisation du programme DUCTSIZE de Elite Software qui utilise la méthode des taux de friction équivalents pour concevoir le système/plan de conduits

Vérification de la consommation d'énergie
Évaluation du rendement énergétique d'une maison existante en collaboration avec quatre étudiants.
* Conduite de tests à l'aide d'un thermographe à infrarouge, d'une porte soufflante et des poires à fumée afin de détecter les zones de pertes de chaleur et les fuites d'air.
* Évaluation de la qualité de l'air avec des instruments d'enregistrement des données pour la température, l'humidité relative et le dioxyde de carbone et comparaison des données avec les normes ASHRAE.
* Rédaction d'une recommandation sur la consommation d'énergie économique.

Conception d'un système de pompe à chaleur géothermique
* Conception assistée par ordinateur d'un système de chauffage et refroidissement pour un aréna situé à Montréal.
* L'utilisation de la pompe à chaleur géothermique s'est révélée l'élément clé.
* Analyse de données et calcul des équipements (pompes, conduites d'eau, échangeur d'air, ventilateurs et conduits).
* Évaluation des coûts initiaux et énergétiques avec Microsoft Excel.
