Responsibilities included weekly rig inspections, employee training, hazard assessment and accident investigation. Accomplishments included writing a company spill control plan, writing a Human Resources policy manual and creating and implementing a Federal Motor Carriers compliant commercial drivers and vehicles records program.

Provided comprehensive OSHA, MSHA and DOT compliance consultation to client companies throughout the western United States. In my role as their safety officer, I partnered with my client companies to not only improve worksite safety but also worked directly with their clients and various regulatory agencies on their behalf. Managed Worker's Compensation claims from First Report of Injury, through investigation and case closure; reduced the annual cost of clients' claims up to $200,000. Developed and delivered client specific health and safety programs and training and regularly performed worksite safety inspections.

Provided comprehensive industrial hygiene service and support for Community Hospital as well as OHC's client companies (over 700 client companies). Responsibilities included one-on-one ergonomic evaluations (video display terminal and industrial/assembly), respiratory protection, hazardous materials and atmospheres, hazardous noise, comprehensive evaluations of work areas. Responsibilities also included both internal and external client training in all areas of occupational health and safety. Partnered with Workers' Compensation and medical providers to facilitate effective return to work strategies for injured workers. Responsible for providing internal and external guidance, interpretation and oversight to determine compliance with federal, state and local regulations and other standards.
INDUSTRIAL HYGIENIST 1996 to 1999
MACTEC-ERS, Prime Contractor to United States Department of Energy, Grand Junction, Colorado
Developed and implemented the Industrial Hygiene Program for the project office. Provided industrial hygiene guidance in support of RCRA/radioactively contaminated hazardous waste site operations. Performed oversight to determine compliance with federal, state and local regulations and other standards. Responsibilities included writing, reviewing and revising hazard analyses, health and safety plans, engineering design specifications and other documents. Also responsible for performing hazard assessments, comprehensive evaluations of work areas, and surveillance of field activities. Responsibilities also included directing and performing industrial hygiene and environmental sampling, asbestos and lead inspections, interpreting analytical results and applying those results to field operations. Responsible for all aspects of industrial hygiene for environmental remediation projects ranging from Idaho to Florida. Supervised IH Specialists and also provided IH supervision to all technicians on both local and remote project sites.
