Responsible for the development, application and maintenance of Health, Safety and Environmental standards for maintenance processes, materials and products. Develop and initiate standards and methods for inspection and evaluation. Develop and conduct training sessions on safety including programs of Tool Box Talks. Internal / external Fire Safety Training, Risk Assessment...etc. Coordinate emergency evacuation training and safety of properties and stakeholders. Develop first aid policies and procedures. Develop operational procedures particularly addressing environmental issues. Develop and complete incident report formats to identify causes and to determine how such accidents might be prevented in the future. Assist in the development of an Environmental Policy. Maintain and update emergency response plans and procedures in conjunction with the Security Department.
Maintain inventories of hazardous materials and hazardous wastes, using waste tracking systems to ensure that materials are handled properly. Provide new employee health and safety orientations. Recommend measures to help protect workers from potentially hazardous work methods, processes or materials. Carry out Risk Assessments for both routine and ad hoc maintenance/operational procedures. Produce safe systems of work for maintenance tasks such as Working at Height. Develop and maintain Occupational Health and Hygiene policies and procedures including environmental monitoring for noise, airborne substances, PPE, ergonomics.
