Employment History

Electrical Helper (January – April 2002)

(Wespac Electric Ltd., International Division) I was a member of a small crew of electricians/apprentices who constructed specialized wiring harnesses for cold weather work camps. We fulfilled large orders on time and with outstanding quality. I learned quickly, and after only 2 months I was helping out on several on-site jobs as well as wiring control panels for the camps.

Heavy Duty Resistance Welder (June 1999 – August 2000)

(Northside Industries Ltd.) I was the chief operator of a crew of resistance welders that assembled Western Star semi-truck doors. I was in charge of the “door line” after only 4 months when I was given my own shift and crew. I learned the job very quickly and had an extremely good eye for quality control. I trained new employees. My crew had the highest quality rating in the whole plant, and we were continuously acknowledged by our supervisors on what an outstanding job we did.

Welder’s Assistant (Summer 2001)

(Ripley’s Stainless Ltd.) I worked with a group of skilled stainless steel welders as their helper. I would do all the finishing work, such as polishing, grinding, and shaping steel. The shop produces wine tanks; many are over 30 feet tall. I further enhanced my skilled working with metal products and learnt a great deal about stainless steel, both its weaknesses and strengths.

Roof Truss Laborer (Summer 1998)

(Home Truss) I framed and constructed various size roof trusses for residential use. I learned the structural design of common roof trusses and how important it was to have such elements in a house professionally designed. I constructed typical roof trusses, raised heel trusses, girder trusses, hip trusses, gable ends and valley jacks. This was my first chance to do construction as a regular job, other than building some small buildings for friends/family.
