Saudi Aramco North Jeddah Bulk Plant works construction and Two Grades Gasoline Project (2006 April – Continue)

Assigned as Site Manager wholly responsible for project BI-0069 & BI-3548 upgrade the whole Bulk Plant and Tank farm installing 7 new loading modules, new pump station (7 pumps), new 13.8 kV substation, HVAC, piping (1/2'' to 24'' – 12000 Lm), Cabling (45 kM), tanks reassignment, pipe racks, TMS control system etc. – I took over the project at 60 % of construction completion and presently the project is at its pre-commissioning stage

Gulf Farabi Petrochemical Plant off Plot facilities. (2006 January – 2006 April)

Site Manager responsible for the Sasref site. The project constructed four 200000 BBLs kerosene tanks, Pumping facilities, and metering facilities, off plot pipelines Electrical /instrument facilities. I joined the project at the last phase of the project construction activities and did complete all the construction activities. Coordinated the testing/precommissioning of Tanks, pipelines, metering system, electrical substation, control and ESD systems.

Saudi Aramco Gas plant control system replacement. (2004 July – 2006 January) - Appreciation letter available

Project Manager responsible for project BI-3180 (JGP Relay Based ESD and Control system replacement project). The scope of work of this LSPB project included procurement of all materials, construction, pre commissioning and commissioning. All works were carried out in accordance with Saudi Aramco standards and included installation of 186 cabinets, cable trays, cables, conduits, field instruments, Mechanical piping, structural, governor modifications, building modifications etc. The project involved extensive power & instrumentation cabling, termination, loop testing and cutover of live equipments to new control system. This project had no NCR's, no safety incidents and the construction was completed 5% ahead of schedule. – I have involved from day one until the commissioning of this project including design review for electrical, procurement and construction supervision.

Saudi Aramco Al Hassa Distribution system upgrade. (2001 October – 2003 January)

Assigned as Site Manager responsible for LSPB contract to upgrade three Substations in Al-Hasa area. The work involved the installation of one (1) 115KV outdoor dead tank circuit breaker, 115KV disconnect switch and associated bus structures to replace the existing outdoor gantry. Installation of three (3) 34.5KV outdoor dead tank circuit breakers, disconnect switches, surge arrestors and associated bus structures. Installation of 34.5KV and 13.8KV indoor metal clad switchgear at different substations to replace the existing switchgear. Installation of RTU and annunciation equipment. – I have involved in the design review, procurement and site supervision of this project

Saudi Electricity Company Construction of Mohammadiah Substation (2003 March – 2004 June)

Assigned as Site Engineer for EPC contract to Design, engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning and Commissioning of a new 110/13.8 KV Substation with 3x40 MVA Power Transformer, with associated switchgear and civil works including 30 outgoing 13.8KV cable feeder bays. I was involved from design review, procurement until the commissioning of the substation

Arabian Oil Company PMCR Building Construction Project (1999 October – 2001 July)

Assigned as the Project Engineer involved the planning and project management of the E. P. C. package of a blast resistant control room by unifying the existing control rooms whilst replacing the conventional control panel type instrumentation and control systems for the onshore crude oil production facilities with a sophisticated distributed process control system (DPCS).

Reporting to the contracts Manager and Vice president, I was responsible for the following.

* Guide the contracts coordinator to prepare prequalification and company registration documents for reputed clients and their associates in Saudi Arabia viz Saudi Aramco, Saudi Electricity co., SABIC, Royal commission etc.
* Attending tender meetings, site visits, technical and commercial clarification meeting with the clients.
* Leading a team of estimation engineers to prepare the man-hour estimates and materials estimates for various tenders
* Prepare RFQ, vendor liaison to obtain quotations.
* Estimation, costing and commercial proposals finalization with senior management.
* Preparation of technical proposals including Schedules/Gantt Charts, manpower loading S curves, Histograms, method statements, QA/QC plans, Subcontracting plans, safety plans etc.
* Preparation of technical and commercial clarifications required by clients.
* Finding subcontractors, preparation of subcontract specifications and contract formulations.
* Technical and contract negotiations with the subcontractors
* Technical and commercial negotiations with major equipment suppliers and preparation of purchase orders.
* Allocation of budgets for manpower, equipment and materials for awarded contracts and agreeing the actual budget for project execution.
* Change orders costing and Change order negotiations.
* Design review for substation and E&I industrial projects.

Major Achievements:

* Won projects worth more than 550 million Saudi Riyals in four years
* Prequalification was acquired for HV substation tenders up to 380 kV from a qualification to bid for up to 13.8 kV
* Successfully completed negotiations with major Electrical & Instrument equipment manufacturers for orders valued more than SR 200 million
* Found and formulated subcontracts for more than 50 million Saudi Riyals.
* Prepared the documents for design procedure for ISO 9001 accreditation
* Prepared model QA/QC Plan, Inspection and test plans to incorporate in technical bids.

2. Saudi Aramco (as a contractor Engineer assigned by Al Katlan)

Designation: E&I Maintenance Planning Engineer

I was working with Saudi Aramco during 1998 Jan to 1999 Jan as an Electrical & Instrumentation planning engineer for the Distribution maintenance and modernization contract. Conducted site visits and inspection to assess the condition and maintenance needed for existing electrical and instrumentation equipment including motors, 13.8 kV switches, 460V switchgears/MCCs, control panels, Transfer switches, battery and charger, D.G sets, Grounding, cathodic protection rectifiers, anodes, junction boxes, Differential gauges, transmitters, and meters for pressure, flow, temperature measurements. Estimated and prepared service orders to subcontractors for electrical and instrumentation maintenance works in various Saudi Aramco distribution plants. Prepared the PM steps, Job standards and maintenance packages for various E & I equipment.

Test and Inspection of 1600 mW steam powered Ghazlan power plant SCECO (E)
(1997 Nov.-1998 Jan): Worked as Electrical Maintenance Engineer 1997 scheduled shutdown maintenance.

Project Engineer: Responsible for Design, Tendering and Execution of Projects. The major projects I was associated with include.

HVAC system for Cochin International Airport: Made design, prepared the Material Take off (MTO) and tender package for Electrical works of Heat Ventilation and Air Conditioning System (HVAC). Energy Audits: Was a member in the Energy management team of the organization and conducted Energy Audits for more than 20 medium and large-scale industries.

Training programs: Conducted and coordinated sessions for Technology clinics, Entrepreneur Development Program and Prime Ministers Rozgar Yojana (PMRY) programs.
