SUMMARY OF EXPERIENCE
SUGAR CORPORATION OF UGANDA LIMITED
As Senior Manager (Projects) of the corporation, I head the projects department, of all the projects undertaken by the corporation, whether capital or maintenance are planned & executed by my department. Following is the sequence of operation followed by me.
1. Plan and Present a Project with its planning, implementation and cash flow with its costing and payback period and benefits for approval to the board.
2. Initiate & formulate specific project policy.
3. Organize project team in consultation with departmental managers (HOD'S).
4. Identify & communicate projects objectives to the project team.
5. Identify suppliers & contractors.
6. Draft tenderizing & contract conditions for local and international suppliers.
7. Administer & implement contracts.
8. Schedule, track & report project progress to the management with respect to the stipulated and planned cost, quality & time frame.
9. Interaction with financial institutions for disbursement of loans.
ANAND AGROCHEM (I) LTD
As Chief Project Manager (Engineering) of Rs. 700 million integrated Sugar Mill cum Downstream Distillery complex along with a 15 MW Cogeneration Power Plant under construction. My job is to Plan, Evaluate, Supervise, Implement and Execute, where the job responsibility involves guiding a team of Engineers overseeing the erection activity at site, Interacting with the Financial Institution for technical clearances, Interacting with the consultants for review of Engineering details and drawings, interacting with various other governmental bodies for regulatory and statutory clearances. Interaction with suppliers, for placement of orders, and technical review and follow-up. Execution of the complete Project from engineering aspects was being overlooked by me including Civil Engineering.
TRIVENI ENGG & INDS. LTD
An EPC organization, with interest in Oil & Petrochemical, Environmental Engineering, Agro Engg, I started my career in the Projects Department as an Engineer with exposure to Site Management, Contracts, Planning, and Procurement and eventually graduated to Manager (Projects & Contracts). I have executed 5 projects independently of Sugar Manufacturing Units and Co-generation plant.
Other than the above broad job functions, as a Contracts Manager, I had to strictly adhere to the Company's policies and procedures in project execution and at the same time keep a tab on the Client's activities as well as Major OEM supplier's and monitor their progress constantly. Operating Letter of Credit for suppliers as well as for the Client. Follow up on the Collections. Monitor Inflow & Outflow, thereby keeping a balance of payment.
Corresponding on all Contractual issues with Client & Major OEM suppliers. Monitor our own manufacturing thru sub contracts. Internal coordination with various deptts. i.e. Design & Engg., Sub Contracting & Procurement and Finance.
As Sr. Engr. (Projects & Planning)
I started looking after the Planning part of the project over and above the basic project execution, which included:
* Developing Time Frames for the Projects using WBS on M.S Projects.
* Overseeing Erection activities.
* Tracking of all major activities, timely release of drawings and review of drawings, Purchase orders, Manufacturing of in-house designed items through vendors.
* Supply Chain Management wrt site requirement & manpower availability.
* Tracking cost and variances wrt to the Budget on d-Base.
* Generating a consolidated MIS for Project.
I had joined the organization as an Engr (Projects) in Projects & Engg. Division where some of the essential job responsibilities included:
* Monitoring, Reviewing and executing Erection activities at site.
* Review of all drawings released for Erection & Manufacturing & report discrepancies.

French Company involved in the field of Water Treatment Projects using Aerobic, Anaerobic, Activated Sludge &Aerated lagoon treatment process globally, I worked as a Asst.
