I first joined Dar Al Handasah Consultants (shair and partners) in 1994 as Structural Designer Engineer, Left in 1997 then rejoined the firm on 2001 as Site Structural Engineer on Dar's prestigious projects undertaken at Egypt and Saudi Arabia.

Professional Experience
1. Review the structural drawings and specifications submitted by the design consultant(s) at each stage of the design to ensure completeness, correctness and compliance with the scope of work and agreement requirements.
2. Review and assess contractor's alternative proposal, calculations and liaise with the designer for final approval/comment.
3. Review the contractor's requests for information (RFI), material submittals, shop drawings…..etc.
4. ööAttend technical meetings with the contractor and client team.
5. Knowledge of ACI,BS,UBC design standards
6. Familiar with FIDIC conditions.
7. Lead, direct and monitor the performance of all site engineers and support staff under my charge.
8. Supervise and remain vigilant regarding all aspects of the construction activities
9. Advise and assist the contractor on construction procedures through method of statements.
10. Coordinate the construction work with different disciplines.
11. Prepare site work instructions to the contractor and the relevant verifications including cost estimate for the client's approval.
12. Observe the safety procedures followed by the contractor. Issue instructions as necessary to correct safety violations.

Al Qasr project is 400 million US$ project located in the heart of Riyadh, aims to deliver high quality housing for Saudi citizens. With a projected 4,000 units over 816,000 square meters, the development is one of the single biggest real estate projects of its type in the Middle East. The project consists of a plot area for 4 types of 2-storey private villas and 16 types of 5 storey apartment buildings
* Managed crew of 11 field engineers and 5 surveyors
* Review all correspondence to the contractor to ensure its compliance with contract conditions including shop drawing, material, and method of statements…etc.
* Reviews contractor's correspondence on contractual issues and prepares drafts of replies for RE's signature.
* Reply on contractor's quires through Request for Information RFI and solving arising site problems.
* Participates in reviewing and assessing all claims submitted by contractor.
* Participates in the progress meetings and other technical meetings.
* Issue Site work instructions and nonconformance reports to the contractors.

Senior Structural Engineer
The prestigious 2 billion US$ Abraj Al Bayt project (King Abdul Aziz Endowment Project), being built close to the holy mosque in the holy city of Makkah. Spread across a 1.5 million square meter area, The project also features a massive 70,000 square meter shopping mall targeting the millions of pilgrims who throng the holy city; a car parking facility that will accommodate 1,500 vehicles and a mosque that will hold 25,000 worshippers.
* managing the construction of Hajar Tower form the foundation level, Podium and typical floors.
* Supervision for the execution of the in situ post tension slabs.
* Inspection of all daily site activities including steel reinforcement and formwork inspection and monitor the concrete casting on site.

A high-rise building built on an area of 30000 m2, including a hotel, apartments, offices, shopping mall and a marina. Being 35 floors tall, it is one of the tallest buildings in the city. It was opened in 2006.
* Review of the contractor's shop drawings for steel reinforcement.
* Review of the contractor's method of statement and alternate proposals.
* Coordination with other discipline engineers for any discrepancies in the design drawings.
* Technical support for the site staff in solving any raised problems during construction.

The project consists of the development, construction and operation of a 682.5 MW steam generation plant, which will be fueled with natural gas with residual fuel oil (mazout) as backup fuel.
* Responsible for the construction of boilers foundation, main electrical building, Transformer foundation and pipe racks.
* Perform daily inspections for the steel reinforcement, formwork, Anchor bolts fixation and concrete casting through inspection requests submitted by the contractor.
* Prepare weekly report to the construction manager including the progress on site and the site problems.

* Representing the client as an engineering consultant for construction supervision.
* Inspect of all the reinforced concrete work including the machine foundations and the Anchor bolts details for various equipments to ensure conformance to design drawings and specifications.
* Provide technical support to solve construction problems and design modifications.
* Monitor the progress on site according to schedules and report to RE.
* Control the third party laboratory on site.
* Attend the crushing of concrete cylinders.

The project was the construction of a flat steel project which is a compact hot-rolling mill with skin pass mill, a pickling line and a coil service center designed for a capacity of 800,000 tones/year.

* Monitor the progress of construction as client representative during the stages of construction.
* Review the fabrication and installation shop drawings provided by the contractor (Ferro Metal co FMC)for structural steel buildings
* Weekly visits to the steel fabricator factory to monitor the progress of fabrication and the delivery status and define the priority in delivery according to the site progress.
* Inspection of the delivered steel and monitor the installation sequence.

The library building is supported on a reinforced-concrete raft supported on piles, The design of the new library incorporates four basement levels and six floors under the highest point of a dramatic sloping circular roof, The roof structure is composed of precast girders of reinforced concrete and a diagonal secondary steel system to support the roof glazing and cladding.

* Working as field engineer for the execution of the reinforced concrete work.
