PROJECT EXPERIENCE:

Sewerage Tunnel (Length 9.6km, Dia. 3.3m) including shafts and ancillary structures in Singapore; Underground MRT (Dia. 5.8m, 3.4km long twin bored tunnels including cross passages) in Singapore; Diesel Powerstation (Turn-key) in Sri Lanka; Liquid Natural Gas Tanks (Pre-stressed concrete) in Sultanate of Oman.

Client: Public Utilities Board, Singapore. 9.6km I.D. 3.3m bored tunnel excavated by 2 nos. dual-mode EPBM's lined with pre-cast concrete segments and a corrosion protection lining consisting of in-situ concrete and an HDPE liner with 6 nos. access shafts, 1 no. drop shaft and 1 no. diversion structure.

Engineering Manager

Responsible for design preparation and coordination as well as reviewing of designs for temporary and permanent works prepared by the nominated design subcontractor; In charge of general work preparation, all preparatory works and planning including preparation of programs / schedules and updating of the same while monitoring closely the progress of works; Notified Contracts Department on variations, obstructions as well as unforeseen ground conditions and provided technical background for claims; Prepared design calculations and shop drawings for temporary works and site installations; Composed bill of quantities and inquiries for subcontract works, materials and equipment as well as evaluation of offers received in terms of technical and commercial aspects; Reviewed and evaluated subcontract, equipment & material supply offers and recommended prospective subcontractors and suppliers to the Project Manager; Responsible for preparation, administration and submission of design drawings, technical documents, reports and method statements to the Client, Authorities and Third Parties; Supervised ground instrumentation and monitoring works, reviewed the readings and advised staff, Client and Third Parties on remedial measures upon reaching of Trigger Values; In charge of preparation and submission of necessary applications to Third Parties and Authorities for all works related to the project and interacted with the latter to ensure efficient realization of the project; Advised staff on technical matters relating to the project and reviewed specification changes on technicalities, and advised the purchasing and construction departments on all technical matters.

In charge of planning and supervision of all project finishing works that comprised placing of invert concrete, excavation and construction of cross-passages by NATM (SEM), installation of cable brackets and pipelines, and completion of tunnel lining at interfaces with stations; Responsible for coordination of all design matters and maintaining quality-control for above-mentioned works; Interacted with system-wide contractors and managed design and provisions for the latter; Prepared and submitted method statements, reports and material transmittals to the Client.
