* Interact with the Project Directors and the Employer

Detailed Tasks Capable of:
Has about 20 years professional experience, out of which over 16 years in projects involving Road and Bridge construction supervision as the primary or secondary construction activity. For the last 20 years, he has been Team Leader, Resident Engineer /Project Manager for projects involving both multi-lane and 2-lane highway/bridge construction using the latest construction equipment & techniques. He is highly experienced in leading a site team in construction supervision of a number of highways and bridges.He has particular expertise in managing large team(s) of consultants as well as managing projects in consultation with central and local government organizations. He has also worked on projects similar to the World Bank, Asian Development Bank and other International Lending Institution/Agencies funded projects of construction supervision and design. Mr. Murthy is an excellent communicator with clients and contractors at all levels.
As Resident Engineer/Project Construction Manager he has supervised the construction of approximately 300 Km. of multi-lane highways totaling 1200 lane Kms. and comprising of over 30 major bridges of over 60.0m length and 6 bridges of over 300 M length.
The above works included the extensive use of modern continuous paving machines laying up to 1.5km. per day. In addition he has supervised the construction of more than 30 concrete and 8 steel bridges with clear spans of 20 metersto 65 metres and lengths up to 800 meters. Bridge foundation types have included, bored piles in soft ground conditions, driven precast concrete piles, concrete caissons. This wide ranging experience includes new construction and widening of existing roads in both in land (jungle and mountain terrain) and low lying plain and coastal environments. In addition to his experience on multi-lane highways his construction supervision experience includes the execution of industrial projects, Nuclear Power Plants and other urban structures.
He has a wealth of accumulated project management experience and a strong commitment to training and technology transfer.
He is a dynamic man of 42 years of age, with a proven background of expeditiously and successfully completing a number of multi-lane highway projects in the recent past.
He has worked on more than 4 major projects utilizing FIDIC or FIDIC based conditions of contract. He has been responsible for the resolution of contractual claims for additional payments and extension of time, and provided advice to the Employer regarding potential arbitration issues and site problems that may cause delays or cost escalations.
He has been responsible for value engineering, achieving contractor's conformance to specifications, contract interpretation, implementation of environmental management systems, quality assurance programs, site safety plans, and the management of supervision staff and resources to meet schedule and budgetary requirements. He has a good working knowledge of the latest computer systems relating to highway construction programming

Shall be in-charge of Key Project Execution and Management Functions. Shall co-ordinate with other experts of the construction project and shall also be responsible for Various construction activities such as earthwork, sub-base courses, bituminous /concrete pavement, bridge /culvert works proposed to be carried out under stipulated specification hall manuals.

Shall guide/assist the Material Engineer, Pavement Specialist, Resident Engineers and other support engineers.
Shall directly interact with Clients/Team Leader and other support staff to check that whole construction process is well controlled as per established specifications controls to avoid later quality control stage problems.
Shall be responsible for co-ordination and regulating activities of Resident Engineers, Pavement Specialist, Quality Assurance Specialist etc for smooth functioning of the package.

Responsible for Construction of all Bridges/Structures and pavement works and co-ordinate with professionals involved. Shall be directly responsible for regulating the construction process involving well foundations, pile foundations, raft foundations etc. Responsible for rehabilitation of existing bridges. Implementing design provisions, guiding and tackling reinforcing operations. Shall rectify any apparent mistakes. Check and control proper mix design, review the design, prepare detailed working drawings. Scrutinize pavement and bridge structure drawings submitted by the contractor, check form-work/reinforcement and pre-stressing. Plan and maintain major rehabilitation of existing bridges. Supervise rehabilitation measures carried out by the contractor
Shall also be responsible for conducting & supervision of all routine laboratory and field-test on soils and aggregates. Certifying the quality of materials, works and RA bills of contractors. Conducting Soil & material investigations, sub soil investigation in various soils & rocks, conducting laboratory testing of soil & materials and interpretation of results and analysis of data for quality inspection.
