I have 23 years of experience in my Engineering Career. 14 years of experience in Operation and Maintenance of 9.5 MW to 25 MW THERMAL POWER PLANTS and 9 years of experience in Erection and Commissioning of HIGH PRESSURE BOILERS. I am currently associated with M/s Enmas O&M Services Private Limited, Chennai-18, Tamilnadu, India as a Dy. General Manager (O & M) and my present job responsibility is Project Co-ordination and Technical support for Operation & Maintenance of all Thermal Power Plant sites and New Thermal Power Plants Commissioning Co-Ordination and Technical support. RESPONSIBILITY IN MY JOB AS POWER PLANT MANAGER (O&M)

1. Administration of over all Staffs & Technicians and cost control management.
2. Conducting Interviews and arranging efficient Staffs & Technicians for Operation and Maintenance of the Power Plant
3. Operation:
Responsible for Boiler Cold Start-Up, Turbine Cold Start-Up and Synchronize the plant with EB Grid Power and Maintain the maximum Plant Load Factor.
Efficiently run the 15 MW Thermal Power Plant by watching and monitoring all the parameters of Boiler, Turbine, Cooling Tower, R.O & D.M. Plant and Fuel
Handling System.
Exploring the possibilities of development activities with the view of energy saving, breakdowns reduction, operational flexibility improvement and implementing those which are technically, financially and economically viable.
Pays Particular attention to safety by ensuring safe working practice and environment for men and machinery.
Finding the ways for continual improvement in the plant and Achieving the Goals by improving the Plant Performance.
Arranging the spares and Inventory control for Captive Thermal Power Plant.
Preparation of Daily Production report, Monthly & Yearly Plant Performance report inclusive of Cost of Power Generation, Plant Heat Rate, Boiler
Efficiency, Specific Fuel Consumption, Raw & DM Water Consumption, Loss of
Ignition, Turbine Specific Steam Rate, Aux. Power Consumption, Plant load factor, Heat Balance Calculations, Plant Running hours and Down Time.
Preparation of Boiler, Turbine, DM Plant and Electrical Log Sheet Formats and
Plant Operational Staffs & Technicians Shift Schedules and Organization Chart
Communication with suppliers of Boiler, Turbine, Cooling Tower, DM Plant, Fuel handling System and Ash handling System for rectifying the operational problems and arranging of Spares.
Motivation and Training of Engineers and Technicians for efficient Plant
Operation & Maintenance.
Implementation of company policy /system like ISO 9001, 14001.

4. Maintenance:
(a) Preventive Maintenance:
Preparation of Maintenance Schedules, Preventive Maintenance Run Check lists,
Stop Check Lists for Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation Maintenance and monitors all the maintenance jobs and gets the output properly from the maintenance team.
Preparation of Lubrication Schedule and Periodical application of lubricants to all Fans, Pumps, Fuel feeders, Gear Boxes, Conveyors, Compressors and Motors.
Inspecting all the Machinery for any damages caused, rectifying the minor defects and preventing major Breakdown and minimize the down time.
Preparation of maintenance spares list and arranging maintenance spares and consumables in time and inventory control.

(b) Predictive Maintenance:
Condition Monitoring of all Rotating Equipment by taking the vibration readings periodically and improve the healthiness of the equipment.

(c) Shutdown Maintenance:
Planning and scheduling all the shutdown maintenance jobs, Arranging of manpower, consumables, spares and completing the work within the stipulated time.

Thermal Power Plant Project Management and Vendor Development.

Good Experience in Thermal Power Plant Installation & Commissioning.

Expert in High Pressure Steam Boiler Operation and Maintenance. Efficiently run the boiler with fuel economic and quick trouble shooting.

Good knowledge on pressure vessels material selection, welding, stress-
relieving, NDT, Radiography and IBR formalities.

Expert in Steam Turbine Operation and Maintenance. Steam Turbine Overhauling and annual maintenance.

Good knowledge in all type of Rotating Equipments maintenance like Centrifugal pumps, Fans, Compressors, crushers, conveyors, blowers etc.

15 MW Coal based Thermal Power Plant Auxiliary Power Consumption reduced from
9.5% to 7.75%
Soft water consumption reduced from 202 m^3 to 136 m^3 per day.
Loss of Ignition (LOI) in fuel reduced from 10.6% to 4.9%.
Frequent bearing failure of Condensate Extraction Pump due to high vibration was avoided by modifying the base frame and vibration level reduced from 10.6
mm/sec to 2.8 mm/sec.
Frequent failure of Flip-Flap Vibration Screen springs and bottom deck shaft was avoided by modifying the shaft arrangements.
Computerized Maintenance Management System implemented successfully.
Safety related improvement jobs 146 done in a year and get the award from the management.
