Monitor / Inspect several Chevron projects simultaneously from the beginning of Fabrication stages to completion, at the Sonamet - Lobito, Angola - Africa yard. Projects include, Mafumeria-Norte Jacket and Deck construction, Tombua-Landana Manifold, Plet, and Well base fabrication, and the Takula Gas Production Jacket.
All projects require daily monitoring/Inspection and weekly reporting of fabrication, materials acceptance, NDE Inspections, Dimensional checks, Hydro testing of Riser & Decking pipe, and Blasting & Coatings acceptance, while insuring that all of Chevron/ CABGOC Specs. & Chevron's Safety in Design regulations are met and strictly followed. Monitor / Inspect from Banzala Lago Project start up at Dynamic Industries Inc.'s two Port of Iberia, La. yards for the fabrication phase of the Banzala Platforms, then load-out "B" & "C" on sea going barge to Angola, Africa for offshore installation, pipelines, hook-up and commissioning with additional Brownfield work on "A" & "GS-M" Platforms.
Job requirements involved, monitoring the construction of two platforms, "B" & "C", from the start-up of Deck fabrication, to the pipeline tie-ins, mechanical commissioning and witness platforms being brought on line for Operations. Duties include monitoring the Piping / Structural construction, inspecting arriving materials and equipment, verifying dimensions and fit-ups, monitoring welding while in progress and completed, review all NDE testing – X-ray, U.T., M.P.I., done on Piping / Structural components, inspect the painting of pre-fabricated materials, and monitor the assembly of the platform packages. Monitor the load out and Sea fastening of the platforms, Ocean Containers, etc., for delivery to Malongo, Angola.
While in offshore Malongo, duties involved monitoring the setting of the Decks to the Jackets, complete Greenfield work by continued monitoring/Inspection of Construction, Hook-up, Flushing & Hydro-testing, and Commissioning of the new platforms, while insuring that all CABGOC Specs and S.I.D.s were followed to meet Chevron Operation's acceptance. Monitor field installation of pre-fabricated piping /structural upgrades to Brownfield work at Banzala WP-A and GS-M at the Takula Complex, to allow connection to the platforms "B" & "C" Electrical Umbilical, Production and Water Injection pipelines.
Attendance and participation in daily Safety Tool-box Talk meetings and Daily/Weekly Reports to Construction Manager were also part of the routine job and Project assignment.

Job requirements involved, observing 6.625"x.971"w.t. welds being made in J-Lay position for pipeline and SCR pipe, using the Vermaat Automatic Welding System, visually inspecting the weld and witnessing A.U.T. read outs.
I also collected Parameter readings of welds and checked for correct variables. I observed and inspected weld sleeve placement, coating thickness. Job also required monitoring, thru underwater observation with ROV unit, the placement of the PLET on bottom, the pipeline touchdown point, and the hand over of the SCR pipe to the platform.

Job requirement involved monitoring welds on 10.75"and 8.625" SCR pipe taking manual- visual readings and using the Phoenix Auto-weld Monitoring System on the Atwater Valley, MC920 development project. I also tested welders on Stick, the Phoenix Gold Automatic Welding System, Sub-arc, and Flux-core qualifications for the pipeline, and did visual inspections of main-line welds.

Job assignment was, working for 37 days under the direction and guidance of Fluor personnel, who are in charge of construction and maintenance on the Jade Platform and the F.P.S.O. Zafiro Producer. Replace pre-fabricated piping during shut-in on Exxon/Mobil's Jade Platform. Work involved removal of old piping and install new pipe consisting of steel and fiberglass pipe, used in production in various locations thru out the platform. Using information from P&IDs, Isometric drawings, and measurements taken on board the Exxon/Mobil F.P.S.O. vessel Zafiro Producer, I proceeded with the fabrication and installation of piping for a future module hook-up, being constructed in Europe. The work involved taking measurements, then over-seeing the crew performing the cutting, fitting, welding and installing the pipe in the overhead pipe racks, using proper approved rigging. All work was performed directly with the utilization of multi- national personnel on board the vessel. I was chosen, and received a Weekly Safety Award from Exxon/Mobil for turning in a corrective measure observation card and recognition of safe working practices while on the job.

When I was the Foreman in the Fabrication Shop, my responsibilities required layout, cutting, fitting, and welding of all materials as needed for X-ray or U.T. using various types of electrodes and wire feed applications. My job also required assigning the job duties, and the over seeing, of 10 to 15 welders, fitters and helpers. Duties required are, use of Blue Prints, including P & IDs, and Isometric drawings, to estimate material for fabricating and welding jobs in shop. Projects included were, sub-sea pipe assemblies, riser piping, riser guards, boat landings, riser and anode clamps and various other components to make the offshore installation more efficient. When needed, I assisted in hydro-testing of piping and sub-sea assemblies, and then sent, the finished products to the Paint yards.
When I was an Offshore Welding Foreman, my assignments included the laying of pipelines using standard piping of many grades and hardness, Thru-Kote U.B. Epoxy lined pipe with internal sleeves, and concrete coated pipe of various diameters. I Utilized both internal and external line-up clamps, and various electrodes, on pipelines that were welded on. The pipelines included single lay, dual lay and triple lay lines with the building and installation of risers to complete jobs using some or all of the above pipeline certifications and welding codes. I was responsible for job assignments and positions on the pipelines for around 20 to 30 welders and helpers, depending on the size Lay Barge, Dive Boat, or Lift boat I was working on. As Foreman and C.W.I., I was often called on to review X-ray film on repairs to welds as needed. When diving operations were going on for clamp and riser installations, I worked directly with the Dive Supervisor to insure the safest and best ways to build and install parts from the welding aspect. I also assisted in hydro-testing when help was needed.
