The incumbent develops and maintains current facilities plans for the Public Work Department (PWD) facilities. These plans include both short and long-range provisions and are comprehensive, covering maintenance, repair, alteration and construction requirements for the region. Quantifies and submits prioritize requirements and determines the most cost-effective method of work accomplishment. Identifies requirements best provided by NAVFAC Washington or contract: generates and submits work request to initiate all such work. Determines funding requirements for all known and anticipated programs and projects and provides this data to the Assistant Public Works Officer (APWO) for formulation of the overall budget.

Organizes and maintains a system for accurate recording and tracking of work requests submitted to the PWD, Monitors and reports the project status to the customer and/or to the vertical /operational supervisions.
Request and track customer funding for each requirement.

The incumbent servers as primary liaison between the customers and contract oversight for all maintenance and facilities-related issues at a particular site. The incumbent is knowledgeable of all points of contract at his area of responsibility. Responsible for real property recording, class 1
and 2 inventory for their site and tracking of installed equipment. Maintains and updates maps, drawings and diagrams.
