Ttwo years experience in utility construction and have taken steps toward improving my expertise.
I have recently completed a Heavy Equipment Operators training, where I
received certification on Loaders (Tractor Loader/Backhoe; Articulating
Wheel, Skid Steer), Backhoes, Excavators (Mini & Standard), and
Bulldozers. Additionally I completed my Class A CDL course on Sep 11,
2009, albeit, while I was in Cameroon I drove semi-tractor and flt bed trailers for the 2.5 years I was there.
In addition to these formalized equipment courses I am actively enrolled in two on-line programs: 1) Construction Management, Associates of
Science and 2) 10-hour/30-hour Construction OSHA course. I believe these courses combined with my other certifications and experience will make me a valuable employee to your esteemed organization.
My experience was in working in a very difficult environment of two metropolitan areas in Cameroon (Africa). This project entailed the rightof-
ways, asphalt/concrete cutting, trenching, pipe placement/joining,
UCV placement, and fibre optic placement/joining. While I understand that this was telecommunications focused project, we had to overcome the same obstacles of construction faced with any underground access
(existing facilities, right-of-ways, traffic management, inspections, safety, restoration, etc.). Additionally, I was in charge of teams of 34+ people, a mixture of Western Expats and local Cameroonians of varying levels of skill.
Added to the complexity, was that Cameroon is a French speaking country.
