Led project teams that worked with oil & gas, and other energy clients across North America, Europe and Africa on operations and business consulting activities. Project experiences include:
* Led a team that developed spend baselines and new commodity strategies for capital project items for an international E&P company. Team realigned procurement activities by consolidation, generation and execution of RFP's including bid analyses, negotiation and recommendation of new procurement partners. Team achieved procurement cost reduction of 7% over unit baseline in the 2-year tracking period post deployment of recommendations.
* Led a sub-team that reorganized and reduced the technical operating costs for a large West Africa E & P operation. Sub-team achieved targeted cost savings by procurement realignments including contract consolidations, streamlining commodity group strategies, field logistics optimization and staff rationalizations. Team was able to cut OPEX by $1/bbl to free up fix cash contribution from parent for capital investments.
* Led a team that developed a new stage gate project management model for a large electric utility, modeled after cross-industry stage gate models. Team reviewed major project management models from E&P's, utilities, and other industries for applicable best practices, established utility industry metrics for project development and execution and identified internal pre-requisites such as existing business processes, and required change management to establish new process. In conjunction with internal team, test projects were generated to simulate execution requirements, and trial implementation undertaken with three new projects which were executed on targeted metrics.

Conducted detailed qualitative and quantitative analyses, to support client engagements at Oil & Gas and other energy clients across the world. Project experiences include:
* Participated on a team that developed a quantitative business model template to be utilized for project screening, development and approval for a Gulf of Mexico focused E&P company. The highly flexible spreadsheet template included variable assumptions for future oil & gas prices, detailed project factor costs and escalation factors, company costs of financing including equity and debt, production rates, and horizons, and abandonment costs. Interfaced with company project engineering management and staff to introduce the tool and provide training. Maintained on-call trouble shooting and Q&A availability for 3-months after tool delivery.
* Participated on a team that helped an Athabasca Oil Sands development contain rising costs, and schedule overruns, reviewed and reformulated existing project execution requirements, and projects risk management strategy for the extraction plant portion of its development. Conducted field and expert interviews to determine critical issues, and identified key bottlenecks. In view of rapidly rising field labor factor costs, and productivity uncertainties, realigned several process modules for shop fabrication in Asia, ocean transport and lift into sites during critical logistics windows.

Performed various engineering studies, advised operations management on technical issues, and managed development and execution of large infrastructure projects.
Project Engineer, Houston Projects Group, Houston, Texas
* Represented Chevron Nigeria on $300MM gas utilization plant EPCI project. Member of JV project development team responsible for pre-FEED development of project requirements, economics.
* Developed and maintained detailed 2-year project engineering, procurement and installation plan. Established required tasks, durations, dependencies, resource requirements and critical path, controlled task execution and maintained progress and adjustments. Achieved on time, on-budget, safe and quality accepted project execution.
* Worked with operations to prepare process shutdown plans for existing plant, and jointly developed black start commissioning plans for upgraded station with operations and contractors. Performed extensive Hazard Analyses reviews for start-up and on-going operations.
* Led the project definition and execution on $13MM Abiteye Water Injection Plant. Working with reservoir engineering, established project goals of increasing oil recovery from existing swamp fields, developed project economics, and evaluated technical alternatives at the pre-FEED and FEED stages.
* Led the project engineering team on Abiteye Water Injection Platform to develop detailed design and equipment specifications, procurement of long lead items. Controlled project schedules and deployed personnel achieve schedule, cost and quality objectives.

Process Engineer, Escravos Terminal, Nigeria
* Provided process technical support to production operations for 400kpd production facilities offshore, swamp, and terminal. Achieved targeted oil treating output quality, less than 0.5% BS&W, target increased water effluent quality by reducing ppm of oil and sediments, and increased total system uptime.
* Conducted engineering modeling studies on oil & gas pipelines networks using Pipe Flow, conducting process optimization studies on production equipment using HYSYS, advised operations personnel on optimal nodal set-points to maximize production and safety.
* Engineered, procured, refurbished and installed medium sized process components to maintain or improve ongoing operations, including vessels, meters, field pumps, and heat exchangers. Conducted SimOps, fitting, lifting, joining and welding within oil and gas production facilities while installing upgrades. Supervised contractor personnel, and interfaced with operations, and safety personnel. Achieved uptime, product quality and zero LTI objectives on all projects.
* Carried out field testing of trial equipment proposed for Chevron operations including water-gas spargers, ultrasonic transducers, centrifugal pumps. Interfaced with remote vendors for equipment troubleshooting and maintenance. Provided technical evaluation and reporting to operations, affinity teams and vendors.

Dickson GMP Inc, Nigeria, April 1994 to January 1996
Performed engineering and construction management duties for oil field services company out of Baton Rouge, LA, that aggressively invested in engineering, construction and offshore jack-up provision in West Africa oilfields between 1994 and 1999.
Process / Mechanical Engineer, Lagos, Nigeria
* Reporting to Engineering manager, led process and mechanical engineering activities on $3MM Chevron Nigeria Limited Swamp Upgrade contract which was designed to modernize 70kbpd production from Swamp fields and evacuate treated crude to Escravos terminal. Project team completed FEED and detailed engineering for Makaraba Platform, Utonana Production Facility, and the Abiteye Flowstation.
* Designed process items including: API 14C SAFE Charts, SAFD's, PFD's, P&ID's, Instrument Loop drawings, ASME VIII pressure vessel design, API 14E pipe sizing, control valve sizing and noise control, relief valve sizing, turbine and orifice meters sizing, block valve specifications, flare relief systems nodal analyses, rectangular tank design, process manifold design, pipeline sizing, centrifugal pump specifications, instrumentation data sheet and specifications.
* Conducted project interfacing activities with client engineering and operations personnel, and construction contractors, including process and mechanical lead role in API 14J HAZOPS, and constructability studies prior to final handover of project.

* Conducted shop QA and verification activities on incoming materials, and pipe production including ISO diagram review, fitting, welding procedures and standards, and review of radiographic inspection procedures and reports on offshore projects for Mobil, Chevron, and Texaco.
