Major Projects

1984: Electrical/instrumentation superintendent, Hanford Works, WA; This project was a 20 million dollar project that converted an existing energy plant to an atomized coal process

1985 ; Project Manager/ superintendent, FAA Idaho Falls, ID; This was a 4 million dollar, quick turnaround project, that included a new MALSR approach lighting system for this regional airport. The project included new electrical systems, extensive excavation, backfill and paving at an operating landing field.

1986-1987; Electrical Superintendent, Anheuser-Busch Idaho Falls, ID; This was the green field construction of a 160 million dollar, malting plant, which included primary power to the site, all electrical systems and instrumentation systems.

1988-1989; Electrical Superintendent, Edwards AFB, CA; This project known as the "Add to
Propellant" facility was a Top Secret military project with a final cost of 40 million dollars. The project included primary power to the facility, all electrical system, distributed control system, and instrumentation for ultra-high pressure steam systems, hydraulics and toxic propellant systems.

1990-1991; Electrical Superintendent, NASA Huntsville, AL ; This project known as "Test Stand -116"
was the 16 million dollar construction of a test structure for the space shuttle engines used during the late 1990's. The project included electrical systems, DCS and instrumentation for propellant systems including ultra-high pressure LN2, LOX, GN2, HE, high pressure hydraulic systems, 15KPSI control valves, deluge water systems and hypergolics.

1991-1992; Project Manager, DOE Hanford Works, WA; The 17million dollar "Environmental Hot Cell"
project consisted of seven solid steel hot cells constructed of 12" thick steel plates making up the walls and roof of the cells. The cells were enclosed in a steel building which housed the control room for the facility, the HVAC system, electrical system and DCS. The hot cell component plates, weighing approximately 48,000 pounds each, were shipped to the job-site, assembled and placed without the use of any overhead cranes. The facility systems including HVAC, Plumbing, electrical and control systems were a turnkey package.

1992-1994; Electrical Superintendent / Assistant Project Manager, DOE Idaho Falls, ID; This project was the 30 million refurbishment of an existing, high-level radioactive waste, tank farm. The project consisted of the removal of piping and valve systems that distributed the radioactive liquid waste to several underground tanks and installation of a modern DCS based control system. The project required the installation of an all x-ray welded piping system, with ASME-NQA-1 quality, including control valves and instrumentation, with work often being performed in radiation fields where workers were subjected to radiation levels of 200 REM and more. The work also included excavation of several thousand yards of contaminated soil, construction of concrete valve boxes and restoration of the site. Our project was tasked with preparing work packages for all segments of work. Due to the high radiation levels present, tasks such as a ¾" butt weld often took 6 or 7 workers to complete one weld due to the extremely short "stay times".

1995-1997; Project Manager, DOE Oakridge, TN; This project, known as the" Melton Valley Storage
Tank Project" was an ASME-NQA-1 quality program job, which consisted of the green field construction of a radioactive liquid waste storage facility, which included six 200,000 gallon stainless steel pressure vessels, distribution piping at the tank facility, cross country "N" stamp piping systems,
DCS, pumping systems, instrumentation and control. Approximately 7000 cubic yards of soil were excavated for the facility. Over 6000 cubic yards of reinforced concrete were placed. Approximately
20 miles of x-ray welded piping were installed and over 150 miles of power and control wire were pulled and terminated. The end value of the project was in excess of 27 million dollars.

1997-1998; Superintendent/ Alternate Project Manager, NASA Stennis Space Center, MS; This project known as the"B-1 Test Stand", included high pressure gas systems, hydraulic systems, a deluge water system supplied by two 96", 4000 H.P. pumps, electrical primary service, electrical distribution, DCS
and telemetry systems. The project included special systems such as cryogenic piping and vessels, high pressure (15KPSI) "Y" pattern ball control valves, exotic alloy piping including nitronic, hastelloy and inconel and a state of the art "mission" control room. Heavy lifts were a major part of the work including trusses over 14' thick weighing in excess of 60,000 pounds that were lifted and placed some
200 feet above the ground, a spherical LOX vessel weighing 225 tons, numerous heavy- wall liquid and gas pressure vessels. Completion cost was near 40 million.

1999-2000; Project Manager, DOE Oakridge, TN; This 11 million dollar project known as the "Hot Off
Gas Project" involved the installation of collector piping, vessels, pump and monitoring systems for all lab wastes at the aging X-10 facility. Work was often highly radioactive with short stay times. All piping systems work X-RAY welded. The project required extensive deep excavation, shoring systems, and disposal of radioactive soils.

2000-2001; Project Manager, Minot AFB, ND; The 7. 5 million dollar " Energy Plant Replacement"
project included the removal of an existing three boiler bank and it's coal handling system, and the installation of new gas fired boilers, power and control systems along with steam, condensate, and feed water piping and equipment. The plant was the primary source of steam for the base and we were tasked with the operation of temporary boilers throughout construction which the extreme winter months.

2001; Project Manager, NASA Stennis Space Center, MS; The "Hydrogen-Peroxide Propellant Project"
consisted of new construction a test facility for satellite positioning booster engines, using 99% pure hydrogen peroxide as the oxidizer. The 12 million dollar project included construction of a blast-
reinforced concrete facility, ultra high pressure piping systems, gas storage, power and control systems.

2001-2002; Project Manager, Ellsworth AFB, SD; This 7 million dollar included replacement of the bases POL system. The jet fuel distribution system was completely removed and refit with new pump facilities, underground piping, DCS and electrical systems. Miscellaneous work included the construction of cast in place valve pits, pumping structures, excavation and removal of hazardous wastes, all performed while working within the Air Force restrictions for performing work on an active
B-1B runway

2002-2004 ; Superintendent/ Alternate Project Manager, Vandenberg AFB, CA; This project known as the "Heavy Lift Launch Facility " consisted of the installation of all piping, vessels, instrumentation, and structures required for the launch of Boeings' heavy lift rocket. The systems that we provided storage, distribution and control for included, hydraulics, GHE, GOX,GN2,LOX,LH, LN2, hypergolics, deluge water, steam, condensate, high pressure air, electrical systems, instrumentation, DCS, and
CCTV. The project was valued at over 42 million dollars which excluded major equipment costs, civil and architectural costs.

2005; Electrical Superintendent, Kiewit Danbury CT; The 115 KV project consisted of the installation of a new 115 KV circuit underground from Norwalk to Bethel CT. My primary tasks on this project included the offload, transport and installation the XLP conductors. This work involved heavy haul, critical lift plans, high tension cable pulls and planning and performing work in a wide variety of confined, elevated and close quarter situations. Project value over 160 million.

2006; Electrical Superintendent, Kiewit, Peoria IL; The Aventine Ethanol project was the greenfield construction of a 60 million gallon ethanol plant. As the lead electrical superintendent I was responsible for the installation of primary power to the facility, installation of all electrical gear, raceways, cable, DCS and guaranteeing the operability of the complete system. Project value over 45
million.

2007 ; Electrical Superintendent, Kiewit, Fairview, NJ; The Cross Hudson Project includes the installation of a 550 MW generator lead from the Bergen Generating Station in New Jersey, via underground duct bank, across two counties of New Jersey, then underwater in the Hudson River for
4.5 miles where it finally comes back on land at the Con-Ed substation in Manhattan, NY. As the lead electrical I was resoponsible for the planning of all cable pulls, some in excess of 6000' continuous, including one through an existing abandoned rail-road tunnel that was built in the late 1800's. I was also responsible for the design of splice manholes, fiber optic systems, retrofit work in the existing substation, scaling and safety systems in the tunnel. Project value over 250 million

2008; Lead Electrical Superintendent, Kiewit, Iatan MO; I am currently assigned as lead electrical superintendent at the IATAN II project as lead superintendent. I am responsible for all electrical construction on the AQCS portion of the plant, all heavy cable pull and all electrical work associated with the plant water treatment systems. I am currently managing over 10000 electrical craft man hours per week. Project value over 800 million.
