Barceló Riviera Resort and Spa, Marfa – 4* - 210 rooms
Post: Engineering and Maintenance Manager / Project Manager
In October 1999 I was employed as a project manager and am currently holding the sole responsibility of the Engineering and Maintenance Department of the above-mentioned Resort. This department is responsible for the routine day-to-day operation, maintenance and servicing of all the hotel plant and equipment, specifically air-conditioning, refrigeration, electrical power distribution, maintenance stores, stand-by generator, plumbing and boiler room, reverse osmosis plant, laundry equipment, lifts, conference facilities, and the local area network distribution and telephone systems.
I am also in charge of the administration and technical aspects of the work involved including budgeting, monthly reports and liaison with various suppliers and contractors. The Resort opened its doors in August 2001 with phase 1, while phase 2 ended in December 2001.

Mellieha Bay Hotel Ltd. – 4* - 315 rooms
Post: Maintenance Manager
I had the exclusive responsibility of the Engineering Department of this hotel. This department takes care of the routine day-to-day operation, house refurbishment, maintenance and servicing of all the hotel plant and equipment, namely air-conditioning, refrigeration, electrical power distribution, maintenance stores, stand-by generator, plumbing and boiler room, laundry equipment, lifts, local area network and telephone system.
I was also in charge of the human resources responsible for the administration and technical aspects of the work involved including budgeting, monthly reports and liaison with various suppliers and contractors.
I was responsible for the completion and management of the total refurbishment of the hotel's nightclub and the installation of a new digital satellite system in all guestrooms.

I was solely responsible for the Engineering Department of the said hotel. The responsibilities of this department are the routine day-to-day operation, maintenance, in-house refurbishment projects and servicing of all the hotel plant and equipment, i.e., air-conditioning, refrigeration, electrical power distribution, maintenance stores, stand-by generator, plumbing and boiler room, laundry equipment, reverse osmosis plant, lifts, local area networks, telephone system and conference facilities.
I was also in charge of the human resources involved in the administration and the technical aspects of the work involved including budgeting, monthly reports and liaison with various suppliers and contractors.

Post: Maintenance Manager
As Maintenance Manger at the Galaxy, I held the sole responsibility of the Maintenance Department, which takes care of the day-to-day operations, in-house refurbishment, maintenance and servicing of the hotel equipment specifically swimming pools, air-conditioning, refrigeration, electrical power distribution, maintenance stores, plumbing, telephone system, boiler room and laundry equipment.

During this period, as a Works Technical Officer in one of Malta's leading banks, I carried out various jobs, which enabled me to obtain an in-depth knowledge in a wide variety of technical and managerial areas. These included the installation of electrical power and distribution, air-conditioning systems, stand-by generators, uninterruptible power supplies and local area networks in many of the Bank's branches and in the Company's computer centre. In this position I was directly responsible for the task allocation and the supervision of approximately forty team members. I was also in charge of liaising with the various suppliers and sub-contractors. As a works technical officer I reported directly to the Premises Manager.
