SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

* Initiated programs and procedures for the prevention of accidents, including safe work practices, safety rules, safety training, and ergonomic programs and at all facilities and work sites.
* Developed Site Specific Health Safety and Accident Prevention plans for state and federal projects.
* Coordinated all compliance activities associated with state, federal and local safety regulations, including OSHA, EPA, FDEP, and other government or client representatives.
* Conducted both scheduled and unannounced on-site safety assessments or audits at company facilities and projects. Traveled to all company projects a minimum of once per month and provided regular written reports of findings from visits (trip reports).
* Coordinated programs for immediate first aid treatment of injured employees, and if needed, transportation to medical facilities. Schedules and monitors first aid, CPR, HAZWOPER and other related training.
* Investigated occupational accidents and injuries and suggests any corrective action that may be necessitated.
* Ensured compliance with regulations concerning hazardous chemicals, including hazardous communications and maintenance of Material Safety Data Sheets for all chemicals used by the companies within the region.
* Supervised environmental compliance activities at company project sites.
* Conducted or provided for safety training required by federal, state or local law and customer requirements, including for example, HAZWOPER, OSHA 10 and 30-hour construction safety, personal protective equipment and equipment operations. Maintained, management informed of any employee certification requirements and impending expirations. Maintains records of training and employee certifications. Training topics will include OSHA-specific and company determined training.
* Assisted the site Project Managers and Superintendents in implementation of practices designed to reduce the volume of initial workers' compensation claims and coordinates regional employee-claimants' earliest return to work.
* Maintained written documentation of the company's overall safety, health and environmental program; establishes goals at least annually for the improvement and maintenance of safety standards with the region.

* Effective management, training and Pre-planning of each work phase resulted in achieving three years without a lost work or OSHA recordable incident.

* Certified Indoor Environment Consultant, Indoor Environmentalist and Certified Microbial Remediator. * At the end of the Lon Coleman / J.A. Jones facilities contract, J.A. Jones requested my transfer to their environmental services branch as their Environmental Health, Safety and Quality Control Manager.
* Implemented, developed and managed individual site specific Environmental Health and Safety Plans.
* Rewrote, implemented and managed all aspects of the Safety, Quality Control and Training programs, resulting in almost four years without a lost work time injury.
* At the request of the corporate office, I frequently conducted site assessments, in which I provided other branches with guidance and training as required. These assessments sometimes included liaison meetings with local, state and federal compliance regulators.
* Effective project management and delineation of medical waste saved the client over $500,000 in disposal costs and the completion of the project months ahead of schedule.
* Facilities Maintenance Contracts; Due to project needs, I transferred from Project Manager to the District Health Safety and Quality Control Manager.
* Established, implemented and managed new "Behavior Based" safety and employee training, and Quality Control programs for a three Naval Base Facilities Maintenance and Utilities Operations (FMU) contract.
* Implemented and trained the management staff on root cause analysis, accident investigations and prevention.
* Developed and implemented an effective employee safety insensitive, recognition program.
* The new Safety programs and a team effort resulted over 1.2M hours (37 consecutive months (end of contract)) without a Lost Work Time Injury.
* Through maintenance excellence, improved Safety, Quality Control and Customer service programs, the project received an 81% increase in their Award fee, an equivalent of $1.9M in increased revenue.
* Managed and trained the Emergency Spill Response Team, implemented an on-water spill containment and clean-up training program.
* Managed workers compensation insurance claims and conducted all accident investigations and training noting deficiencies resulting from accident.
* Effective training was the result of continued cultural assessments, monitoring on site work, evaluating field inputs, and keeping up with the latest changes and regulations.
* Promoted to Project Manager for a 90-employee, FMU contract, managing all aspects of the project including Safety, quality control, production, contract negotiations, payroll, and company assets.
* Developed and implemented, and managed comprehensive corporate and project level Safety, Quality Control and training programs which were accredited with the project receiving 100% Award Fee for 15 consecutive quarters, $1.7M increase in revenue..
* Designed and developed database computer software programs that enabling accurate tracking of contract costs, procurements, work orders, payroll, work schedules, chemical usage, and the Preventive Maintenance program for over 2,300 line items.
