Senior Hydrogeologist, POLLUTECH ENVIROQUATICS LTD. – Point Edward, Ontario 5/2006 to Present
Hold responsibility for project management of site investigations, analyzing and interpreting groundwater quality data for industrial sites and developing shallow groundwater flow models. Analyze and determine degree / type of potential and existing contaminants utilizing Photo Ionization Detector and UltraRae instruments, scheduling geotechnical and containment testing, assessing dispersion and implementing remediation activities, including passive remediation and landfarming. Successfully liaise with clients, consulting groups, regulatory agencies, and civic officials, ensuring approval of projects and processes and reviewing preliminary investigation and geoenvironmental reports. Accurately prepare reports and proposals, including ground investigation design, evaluating data and devising effective remedial alternatives. Ensure reports are written to client's satisfaction in a clear, concise and logical manner, delineating below-ground uncertainties related to purchase ownership of site. Hydrogeologist, AQUAGEO SERVICES LTD. – Accra, Ghana 10/2003 to 4/2005, 10/2005 to 12/2005
Engaged in a variety of comprehensive consulting projects to implement water programs throughout Ghana funded by international organizations including the World Bank, European Union and Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). Managed selection of favourable sites to drill wells, design well structures and conduct water quality analyses. Led reconstruction of local hydrogeology resources by analyzing maps identifying geology, hydrogeology, topography, drainage and vegetation and interpreting well log records. Designed and used geophysical exploration techniques to locate structures associated with groundwater (aquifers) and to trace contaminant paths. Interpreted results and compiled detailed reports. Contract Technical Advisor & Hydrogeologist, WORLD VISION – Banda Aceh, Indonesia 5/2005 to 10/2005
Coordinated evaluation of groundwater resources within World Vision project area in the North Sumatra region of Banda Aceh / Meulaboh to determine best approach to address potable water needs. Delineated extent of tsunami-induced saltwater intrusion within regional groundwater supply to aid in planning water resource development campaign. Facilitated meetings and discussion fora with stakeholders to identify requirements and generate solutions. Used global position system (GPS) instruments, conductivity meters, arsanators to gather and track survey information; developed maps used to assess data. Established work protocols. Developed proposals and project budgets. Recruited, managed and trained staff. Key Contributions:
* Improved operations reduced overhead and increased quality of deliverables by re-designing organizational structure throughout region to transition work assignments away from under-performing contractors while optimizing contributions of talented, dedicated staff.

Field Hydrogeologist, WORLD VISION – Nairobi, Kenya 9/2001 to 9/2003
Served as Groundwater Program Team Leader by overseeing planning and management of water resource development activities. Compiled and analyzed data of existing water sources in targeted communities to formulate baseline report. Identified and used appropriate geophysical exploration techniques; conducted geophysical surveys. Developed project proposals, annual budgets and periodic reports in compliance with international standards. Succeeded in optimizing funding utilization and perpetuating a clear and efficient budget management process.
Field Hydrogeologist, INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE – Khartoum, Sudan 9/2000 to 8/2001
Led strategic groundwater resource development program. Established and monitored strategic plan. Provided technical guidance to staff members. Planned and conducted geophysical surveys and assessments that made use of historical data and site inspection findings. Completed hydrogeological, environmental and socio-economic impact assessments. Recruited, trained and mentored international multi-disciplinary technical team. Key Contributions:
* Orchestrated revival of flagging program by redesigning entire initiative and formulating and implementing region-wide strategic plans.
* Raised approximately US $1M by forging strategic partnerships with global and domestic corporate organisations and relevant government divisions.
Field Hydrogeologist, WORLD VISION - Sudan & Somalia (Head offices located in Nairobi, Kenya) 9/1997 to 8/2000
Managed several geological mapping field studies in southern Sudan to identify regional stratigraphy influencing permeability and transmissivity to create maps to guide representatives from United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) during water project implementation. Raised and managed in excess of US $3M. Championed and developed effective groundwater exploration unit using a combination of terrain evaluation and geophysical techniques to select and complete 150 successful water well sites within this period.
Hydrogeologist / Field Team Leader, DESERT RESEARCH INSTITUTE – Reno, Nevada 9/1994 to 9/1997
Contributed in organization's Hydrologic Sciences Program by using SPOT and Landsat data, aerial photographs and GIS techniques to locate water-bearing fractures and prospective well sites. Refined fracture locations by analysing and interpreting geophysical survey data. Prepared hydrogeological and environmental presentations; participated as speaker, panellist and subject matter expert in public focus groups, hearings and other meetings pertaining to water and environmental sanitation facilities. Wrote field expedition reports. Provided technical support to geophysical exploration crew. Conducted in-depth investigation into techniques to produce higher-yielding wells, bringing drilling success rate from a low of 10% to upwards of 63%.
