CAREER EXPERIENCE:

With over 20 years experience in the construction industry, 10 of these years have been in Management \ supervision. General responsibilities were including accurate takeoffs, estimating, budgeting, contract purchasing & invoicing, experience in full on site construction management & land development, work effectively with architects, engineers, developers, inspectors and city officials, effectively schedule, monitor and inspect all work from start to customer orientation.

July 2007 to Present

Project: Aberthaw Power Station Wales: (Kodak Site London.)
Charge hand Scaffolder / Foreman.
Responsible: Erecting, Adaption & Dismantling of tube & fitting scaffold during, Boiler 7 & 9 outage's.
Schedule: During this time I initially worked as a charge hand scaffolder, erecting, dismantling & adapting tube & fitting scaffold, also I was part of an 18 man team to erect number 9 boiler off engineer drawings, I was then transferred to Kodak based in harrow London as site foreman, here I was responsible for 6 number scaffolders who's duties were to erect design engineer, access scaffolds' to enable asbestos strippers to strip asbestos.

March 2007 to July 2007

Project: Haysham 1 & 2 Nuclear Power Stations.
Advanced Scaffolder
Responsible: Erecting, Dismantling & adapting tube & fitting, & system scaffold.
Schedule: Working in a 3 man squad organising material & erecting various scaffolds i.e.: Towers, Independents, Cantilever, Truss, Hangers and birdcage scaffolds. Also working to engineer drawings for support scaffolds.

April 2006 to March 2007.

Project: Offshore Oil & Gas Rig, North Sea.
Rig Supervisor.
Responsible: Co-ordination with all departments for erecting, dismantling & adapt ion of scaffolds during hook-up of tools of the Brit-Sats refinery platform to the Britannia platform project.
Schedule: Organising labour, working closely with other trades for scaffold requests, many scaffolds had specific load bearing requirements where drawings were required for approval by client prior to scaffold erection, daily delegation of 4 squads of operatives, preparation of permit to work, also monitoring work quality and performance.

Feb 2006 to April 2006.

Project: Tay Bridge, Dundee, Scotland.
Advanced Scaffolder
Responsible: Repairs to steel structure of Rail Bridge.
Schedule: Working as part of a team erecting tube & fitting suspended & cantilever scaffolds also support scaffolds to engineer

Senior Supervisor
Responsible: Tube & fitting and system scaffolds on various contracts of industrial & town sites, working closely with our company engineer on various drawings to help with efficient erecting at site level. Also for ensuring training matrix is kept up-to-date i.e.: SG4.00, Manual Handling, and Scaffold Qualifications.
Schedule: Organising labour, materials, transport & job allocation of 2 supervisors and up to 80 company operatives also including labour only sub-contractors, which are deployed on various sites around the north east on a daily basis. Monitoring and inspection of all work from start to customer orientation, maintaining budgets, meeting client completion dates, process invoices and control overhead costs, also involvement in tendering for new contracts, estimating and final account meetings. Completing general & job specific method statements, risk assessments & toolbox talks, monitoring safety & quality of the workplace.

Project: Filtronics Semi Conductor's Ltd.

Responsible: Co-ordination with all departments for erecting, dismantling & adapt ion of scaffolds during facilitation and hook-up of tools in the production facility.
Schedule: Many scaffolds had specific load bearing requirements where drawings were required for approval by client prior to scaffold erection, meeting client completion dates, record weekly inspection of scaffolds, daily delegation of tasks of 25 sites based operatives, preparation of permit to work, also monitoring work quality and performance.

Oct 1998 to Nov 1999

Project: Mt Pleasant International Airport, Falkland Islands
Site Manager
Responsible: Scaffold, Roofing, Mast & Towers dept which are responsible for maintenance and new work projects of both east & west Falkland Islands also outlying military camps / instillations.
Schedule: Arranging logistics support and travelling by air to outlying camps / instillation, taking into consideration the hostile climate and remote locations, ensuring quality and safety of work in progress and upon completion, daily delegation of tasks for 20 company operatives, statutory inspection reports, documentation and administration, daily toolbox talks, co-ordination of activities with various departments including the (Royal Navy, Army, Air Forces).
