OBJECTIVE

Having been involved in the construction industry for the past (27) twenty-seven years I have been personally responsible for the successful construction and completion of thousands of construction projects, both private and public. My experience has given me the opportunity to perform construction staking on projects to include: Orlando Event Center (New Amway Arena) in Orlando Florida, Norfolk/Portsmouth Tunnel in Portsmouth Virginia. I have worked on classified sites within the Norfolk and Portsmouth Navel Shipyards in Virginia and was even sent to Guantanamo Bay in Cuba, Tampa General Hospital Expansion Project, Museum of Science and Industry (Challenger Building) in Tampa, Florida, State Road 56 Bridge Construction in Pasco County, Florida. Over (30,000) thirty thousand residential and multi-family subdivision lots throughout (8) eight surrounding counties. Performed thousands of miles of Route Surveys as well as coordinated thousands of miles of utility staking. Performed (220) two hundred and twenty square mile drainage study for Pasco County Florida from the Anclote River connection to the Gulf of Mexico (36) thirty-six miles inland to the Cypress Creek Well field. Performed construction staking for the Busch Gardens in Williamsburg Virginia and Kings Mill Subdivision, which adjoins the attraction. Constructed golf courses within Pasco, Hillsborough and Hernando Counties to include: Lake Bernadette – Zephyrhills, Florida, Links at Beacon Woods – Hudson, Florida, Tall Pines at River Ridge (2) Courses – River Ridge, Florida, Summertree – Hudson, Florida, Seven Springs (3) Golf Courses – Seven Springs, Florida, Crescent Oaks Golf Course – Tarpon, Florida, Magnolia Valley Golf Course – New Port Richey, Florida, Timber Pines (3) Golf Courses – Spring Hill, Florida, Seville North Golf Course – Hernando County, Florida, Lake Jovita – Saint Leo, Florida. A few of the subdivisions I have managed include: Timber Pines for U.S. Home in Hernando County, Florida, River Ridge for multiple clients including U.S. Home in River Ridge, Florida, Ivy Lake Estates for Taylor Development in Lutz, Florida, Tampa Palms for multiple developers in Tampa, Florida, Seven Springs Golf and Country Club for U.S. Steel in Seven Springs, Florida, Beacon Woods and Beacon Woods North for Beacon Homes, Orchid Lake for Minierri Communities. Each project was unique in its own way, having its own challenges. However, nothing too big that it could not be conquered or too small that it did not need unique attention. There is basically a tremendous amount of construction of which I have been in direct responsible charge. All of which required attention to detail as well as coordinate and scheduling with multiple entities simultaneously. However, rather than perform the physical calculations and staking and as-built, I am looking to be the superintendent overseeing the constructing and protecting the developer and perform the necessary quality control checks to complete a class project.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Company Name: Capform, Constructors, Inc.
Position/Title: Chief Layout Engineer (Orlando Event Center – New Amway Arena) Orlando Florida.

Primary Responsibilities:

Review structural plans for layout crews on the Orlando Event Center in Orlando Florida which entailed design review and information as to the construction thereof. Calculate line and grade for the layout crews of all; beams, girders, columns, slab edges, stairways, escalators, elevator shafts, mechanical block outs, raker beams, anchor bolts etc.

Prepared all structural as-built drawing for the general contractor (Hunt Construction) related to all items listed above. Prepare unique as-builts on an as-needed basis and/or request from the general contractor. Maintain on site construction plans and record books of the RFI (request for information) as it pertained to said construction plans. Maintain coordinate geometry files for the four layout crews, prepare pre and post deck as-builts for slab pours, monitor and elevate the finish crews for all slabs. Provide both horizontal and vertical geometry for the embed layout. Prepare request for information requests to the general contractor. Monitor construction of all above items to insure that latest revisions were being constructed.

Further I was the responsible engineer for the following levels daily; Founder Level, Terrace Level, Press Level, Hospitality/Mechanical Level and Catwalk Level.

This was a monumental task as the plan revisions went from CCD#6 to CCD#18 in (7) seven months. Therefore there were (12) twelve sets of plans to review for modifications as this structure was being built, maintain the geometry and prepare the calculations for the layout crews and deck foremen as well as maintain the construction schedule.

Primary Responsibilities:

Managed entire surveying and mapping company, which consisted of twenty-seven employees. Prepared bids and contracts, marketing, invoicing, collections. Contract negation, submittal and certifications for Small Business Administration HUBZone certification, submittals and obtain Small Business status with City of Tampa, South Florida Water Management District and Southwest Florida Water Management District. Further obtained contract status with multiple city, county, state and federal agencies.

Position/Title: Senior Vice-President

Primary Responsibilities:

Managed between (3) three and (5) five survey crews and (3) to (5) five CAD technicians on multiple construction projects over a five county radius for over ten years. This involved the calculations for construction staking and layout consisting of the review and comprehension of construction plans, coordinating with multiple construction companies and meeting their staking requirements and deadlines. Further responsibilities were meeting with owners, builders, engineers and utility companies to obtain their requirements during the course of the construction project. Attendance of pre construction and weekly construction meetings and prepare weekly status reports. Prepare As-built surveys and maps for local and state agencies for conformance to construction criteria and approval. Prepare bid estimates and contracts. Prepare quantity takeoffs from construction plans. Prepare record plats for residential and multi-family development. Prepared calculations, coordination and scheduling for shopping center and professional office complexes. Reviewed timesheets, prepared invoicing and tracked project budgets. Prepared change orders and request for information (RFI) from contractors.

Primary Responsibilities:

Managed up to (6) six survey crews and (5) five CAD technicians on multiple construction and design projects for a branch office of a multi-disciplined engineering, planning, landscape architectural and surveying firm. My responsibilities were not limited to, but included review of the daily operations of the survey department. The annual budget during my four years was over 2.3 million in survey and drafting budgets. Prepared weekly project status and workload projections. Prepared invoices, contract and bid proposals. Performed calculations for construction staking, plan review and quality control review. Prepared and reviewed CAD drawings, base maps for engineering and design department. Prepared legal descriptions for land transfer and/or utility companies. Review title commitment and prepared survey reports for land transactions.

Prepared weekly workload projections and coordinated with other branch offices within the state to balance workloads for efficiency and scheduling. Prepared site plans for building permit department. Reviewed company timecards and prepared project invoicing.

Primary Responsibilities:

Responsible for field calculations and fieldwork on multiple construction projects for both public and private sectors. Coordinate with project foreman and site superintendents for site scheduling and staking requirements. Prepare daily timesheets and prepare weekly workload projections for office manager. Train new employees in the art of land surveying. Perform field calculations from construction plans as provided which included the generation of field adjustments and plan interpretations.

Position/Title: Layout Engineer

Primary Responsibilities:

Performed construction layout for the Tampa General Hospital Main Hospital Expansion in Tampa Florida. Project scope and responsible for horizontal and vertical alignment of over (3000) three thousand pilings and caissons for the construction of; Main Addition (12 stories and 1917 pilings), Rehabilitation Center (five stories and 480 pilings), Parking Garage (five stories and 188 caissons), Energy Center (five stories and 493 pilings), Radiology and Oncology Center (two stories and 83 pilings). This project was responsible for the largest single piece of steel ever laid in the State of Florida at the time, and was the Radiology Vault walls. Further responsibilities were for the coordination of over (400) four hundred carpenters and performing their site layout requirements which consisted of establishing pile cap horizontal and vertical positioning, horizontal and vertical positioning of grade beams, shear walls, columns, slabs, block outs, stairwells and elevator shafts. Further, establish breezeway connections for adjoining buildings as well as match floor-by-floor connections for the Main Building Addition. Responsible for the concrete slab crew and manage wet screed process for each deck/slab pour. Coordinate with Project Superintendents and Project Architects for change orders and modifications during construction. Review plans and coordinate with both carpenter and laborer foremen on a daily basis. Maintain horizontal and vertical control network for entire project on as-needed basis.
