SUMMARY
11 years of experience on IT Application in Engineering, Working on Plant Information Management: to create/manage Engineering Data Warehouse to store all Plant information through out Plant lifecycle and to submit as-built data/documents to Client (Owner/Operator) at the end of the project; At present working as EDMS Engineer in SABIC. I am well-experienced on Engineering Data / Document Management, Intergraph CAD System and EDMS (Electronic Document Management System) such as PDS, Smart Plant products, AIM, Directa, SPF; Experienced in Oracle Database Administration; Programming in Visual Basic, PL-SQL, DCOM, ASP; Windows OS Administration; Managing Backup System (like Veritas, Exabyte etc.).

WORK HISTORY
April'2001 – present: SABIC, Saudi Arab as EDMS Engineer
August'1995 – March'2001: Tecnimont ICB, India (including one year deputation at Tecnimont, Italy) as PDS Administrator

EXPERIENCE
SABIC (April'2001 – present)

1. Plant Information Management (PIM): To create/manage Engineering Data Warehouse provided by EPC to store all Plant information through out plant lifecycle. It contains all technical data of the Plant along with its drawings/documents to provide EDMS service to Owner/Operator. It is about creating, maintaining, revising, managing, controlling and accessing information across the plant life cycle.

2. Sabic Technical Information Management System (STIMS): This is about implementing PIM concept for new projects in Sabic Affiliates. It will ensure accuracy, quality and integrity of plant information deliverables from EPCs to Sabic Affiliates' projects which helps to reduce data-handover cost, minimize total cost of plant ownership by increasing productivity and minimizing plant/unit downtime – both planned and unplanned, increase overall efficiency of plant operations through effective management of engineering change, help to ensure plant and personnel safety by keeping plant information synchronised and readily available to operation, maintenance, engineering and safety personnel.

3. CAD administration: CAD support to designers, RDB changes/customization for intelligent CAD softwares to match Company Standard, Oracle database management, report extraction (like linelist, mto, instrument list, equipment list, junction box details) through VB code from Oracle database, Troubleshooting to CAD problems (it includes solving Propagation Errors of P&IDs and errors during report generation).

4. EDMS administration: User support, managing hosts, file systems, work location, users, vaults, assigning roles, Oracle database administration, bulkloading drawings/documents and relationships. Bulkloading involves metadata preparation for all drawings/documents and Plant items (instrument/equipment tags) and to load it into Oracle database. It also involves creating links between equipments/instruments and documents so that related documents can be found easily from any part of the plant. Visual Basic codes are used to check data uniqueness and integrity before loading in EDMS and also to create Bulkload Script.

5. System Troubleshooting: To solve all the errors and users-reported-problems both in CAD / EDMS as well as Operating System to provide a trouble-free working environment to CAD designers and EDMS users.

6. System Configuration: To configure Servers and Workstations for CAD and EDMS; Identical test server also prepared alongwith the same softwares and database with the help of Backup Tape and by Registry Transfer for R&D and to test CAD and EDMS solutions.

7. Backup: To configure backup system for CAD, EDMS and File server using Veritas BackupExec Software and Exabyte Mammoth2 auto-loader tape-drive to ensure no work loss even in case of any kind of server failure.

8. Software Development: In-house software development in VB front-end and Oracle back-end for report generation, bulk-printing utility using client-server DCOM technique, "project schedule" modification and excel report generation also using VB/DCOM, bulkloading in EDMS and several others based on users' demand. Most of them are being widely used in SABIC affiliates.

9. Training: To support and train Designers, CAD Operators and EDMS Users in CAD and EDMS and troubleshooting to their various problems in their respective workstations.

Tecnimont ICB (TICB): August'1995 – March'2001

In addition of most of the above activities:

1. PDS Administration: PDS-support to designers/draftsman, RDB changes, Oracle database administration, report extraction from PDS, PDS customization as per Clients' requirement and other related PDS activities.

2. System Setup: PDS setup in TICB, Mumbai. Starting from Server and Workstations installation, training to the users, PDS customization as per company standard, data transfer and integration between PDS2D and PDS3D, synchronization with Tecnimont-Italy were successfully performed.

3. PDS Coordinator: Coordination with Tecnimont, Italy for PDS jobs and to supervise a group of PDS Operators to assure that job is done on time.

4. Process Experience: Joined Tecnimont, ICB as Process Engineer and at the time of working in process department my job responsibilities were:
~ Decision making on various Process Design Aspects.
~ Generation of Process Engineering documents.
~ Co-ordination with other Engineering Disciplines & Clients.
~ Developing softwares for in-house application such as Pressure drop calculations, pump sizing, Cooling water network pressure drop calculations, Absorber sizing softwares, Thermal design of Heat exchangers, Knock-out drum sizing etc.
~ Preparation of Process Datasheets for equipments, Control valves, Safety valves & other instruments.

EDUCATION
B. Tech. in Chemical Engineering (Calcutta University, India) in the year of 1995. My Chemical Engineering knowledge alongwith my IT experience gave me an extra edge for EDMS and CAD System Administration. To manage technical data/drawings/documents and to extract different piping/mechanical and instrument reports both of my knowledge helped together to succeed for working with EPC and Owner/Operator of the plant.

TRAINING
i) EDMS: Two training courses attended from Intergraph - Basic & Advanced Administration and Customization.

ii) PDS: Training attended from Rolta, India and in-house training in Tecnimont, Italy.

iii) Visual Basic (Web Class/ ASP): VB course attended from Concourse, Bombay sponsored by TICB.

iv) Oracle, SQL, PL-SQL: In-house training in TICB and self development with the study material from Books and material from Internet to learn database administration.

v) NT Administration: In-house training in TICB and self-development with the study material from Books and Internet to install/configure workstation and server, user management, network access and troubleshooting etc.

vi) C++ AND Java: C++/Java course attended from Concourse, Bombay to learn OOPS concept and also to learn new programming technique to go ahead with IT development.

REMARKABLE ACHIEVEMENTS
My performance is well praised by my line-management of present as well as past employers and by the people I had interacted during my 11 years work experience. Some of my remarkable achievements are as follows:

1. Presentation at Aramco: One of the three representatives from Sabic at "Saudi Aramco Gas Operations Engineering Forum" during September-2005. My subject was "Plant Information Management – EDMS". It was well praised by Aramco and also by Sabic.

2. Contribution in Sabic-Fanar Project: Data handover from Sabic Affiliates to Fanar Project to populate Sabic SAP database. Reports were generated for all Equipment and Instrument Tags alongwith its related data/documents from CAD and EDMS Oracle database with the help of VB code and Access/Excel macros.

3. Oracle Database Troubleshooting: Oracle Database failed because of one of the 'tablespace' corrupted due to power failure during overnight-backup. Database successfully restored within a half-day and server brought to online same day without any data loss.

4. Bulkloading to EDMS for Yanpet-1 Drawings/Documents: EDMS was supplied at Yanpet as part of YEP (Yanpet Expansion) documentation. Yanpet-1 drawings/documents were not loaded in EDMS. Metadata was prepared for existing Yanpet documentation in specific format as required by EDMS and VB code developed to create script, to check uniqueness, to create relationships and bulk-loaded the same in EDMS.

5. Create Relationship in EDMS: When EDMS was delivered to Yanpet there was no link between Equipment/Instrument Tags and Datasheets, P&ids etc. So users were not able to get drawings/datasheet or any other document for any tag number unless they remember exact document numbers. VB code was developed to prepare metadata for creating links between Tags and Documents so that from anywhere of the plant just a mouse-click on any Tag Number will give the list of Datasheet, P&id, Vendor Documents etc. and another click on the document will open it in users' computers for viewing and printing. This has saved users' valuable working hours.

6. Software for Data and Document Search: VB/ASP/DCOM software written for Data and Documents search for Instruments, Equipments and Junction Box from anywhere of the plant. From users' workstation only tag number will be given and User will get all its related data and documents. For junction box they will get all the related Instrument List, free terminals, cable number, marshalling panel number etc. This software was developed based on the requirement of Maintenance Department at Yanpet.

7. Software for Printing Documents: EDMS users were not happy with the print quality of Drawings as it is not as good as one available from Design Department printed through IPLOT. VB/DCOM software was prepared for printing any number of drawings just by a single mouse click. It will print through Bentley IPLOT server but will be redirected to the users' printers and printing quality is as good as one taken from design department. Moreover, only one Iplot server-license is required to be installed in server.

8. Software to generate "Project Schedule": DCOM-client/server utility developed to update "project schedule" by Designers and Discipline Engineers and to generate Excel Report by a "button click" for projects' schedule to be submitted to Management. Software involves inter and intra departmental changes by users based on their access of data: widely used by Sabic Affiliate.
