Work closely with Prime Contractor and YMC personnel to promote a strong safety atmosphere. Conduct daily safety audits for all contractors to include all compliance issues for a large construction site. Administer regulatory training for construction personnel at Tamarack Village. Provide guidance to prime contractor on safety issues on a daily basis. Ensure that all safety issues are addressed and solved. I am currently working with management and workers to establish a partnership with OSHA with the Voluntary Protection Program. Beginning in January 2008 I started serving as the Project Safety Manager.

* Policy and Procedure Implementation – Serve as lead for safety related issues. Serve as center-point for management implementation of corporate and general contractor policy and regulations.
* Safety Audits – Contributed to general contractor by providing an excellent tool for safety improvement.

Developed and implemented a new safety program after a federal audit. Trained a fairly transient staff on safety issues that are particular to the transformer manufacturing industry. Conducted audits on a continual basis for process improvement. Issued safety violations for non-compliance.

Developed and maintained a safe working environment with a large construction project in S.E. Idaho. Maintained a zero recordable incident rate while working with stated contractors. Developed and implemented training programs to ensure all personnel were meeting regulatory standards as outlined in the construction standard. Maintained open communication with all contractors on facility. I served as a safety manager in the construction of the Evap. 2 at the Simplot Don Plant in Pocatello. This project was specifically for iron workers and pipe fitters. I served as a safety/training consultant with many large industries in Idaho. We conducted audits and provided guidance to managers for implementation. Upon request we served to implement recommended changes in organizations.

Idaho National Laboratory, Idaho Falls, Idaho 1993 – 2001

Principal Technical Specialist

Coordinated training for over 600 construction personnel. Instituted Orange Card training program for all construction workers. Worked with Project Managers to set job requirements for training and installed programs to meet the needs. I assisted in duties as safety coordinator in large construction projects within a large nuclear facility in the areas of CFA and INTEC. Maintained zero incident rates throughout projects. I Conducted Job Safety Analysis of all construction projects to ensure personnel understood hazards and the proper recognition of those hazards. Major contractors with safety duties included Western Construction; Quality Roofing; Idaho Iron; Arrington Construction; and many others. I developed over 100 on-line training courses to be used with construction personnel to comply with regulatory standards for OSHA, MSHA, and the Department of Energy. Worked very closely with union personnel to ensure guidelines are adhered to.

Northwest Suburban Council, Boy Scouts of America 1985 – 1990

Program Director

Coordinated large events for over 80,000 youth and adults. Worked with many top executives in the Chicago area to coordinate events and assist in fun raising activities. Recruited employees for volunteer status in council positions and summer camp operations. In charge of the development and implementation of all safety standards for safety operation of programs within the Northwest Suburban Council. This was especially critical for summer camp operations with youth and leaders.

Coordinated training programs for upgrade and proficiency for airmen in large maintenance squadron. Maintained and taught all personnel in the Deputy Commander for Maintenance operations. DCM was charged with ensuring safe operations on all flightline operations. Safety Training programs ensured these operations were communicated to all personnel.
