I have worked directly with Mactec Engineers, client representatives, and subcontractors on a wide variety of engineering related projects. As part of the Facilities team, my involvement included, but was not limited to, design and drafting, property condition assessments, and structural evaluations.

Responsibilities included: design and drafting, developing conceptual designs, drawings, and specifications for construction documents; creating and maintating CAD files and drawings for buildings and structural framing, including foundation, site, framing, steel member connections; collecting data via the client, existing drawings, field work, visual surveys, shooting elevations, and taking measurements.

Field work consisted of Non Destructive Testing methods, such as Pachometer, hardness tests, assisting X-ray Technician for welding inspections, or concrete slabs, crack gauges, and Mag Partical tests. Further field experience includes a number of design projects and property conditions assessments, ervations, site and building measurements, damage and deficiency assessments via visual observations.

I have worked on the design and drafting of structural steel framing and platforms built for telecommunications equipment; steel framing and details of steel members for a silo at the Weyerhauser Plant. I have created drawings for foundation plans, structural framing, and details for several VA cemeteries. I have created conceptual and construction documents for renovations of a covered paved walkway and the replacement of an ornamental pond and water system at the Charlotte TIAA CREF BUILDING.

As a member of the Montgomery Watson management team, I worked directly with MWH engineers and contractors to ensure quality construction practices. The Sewer System Evaluation & Rehabilitation Program (SSERP) is a New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board Project. My duties included: On site supervision and management of construction projects, along with the contractor's superintendent; preparation of cost estimates for bid and final restoration; managing and maintaining proper traffic plan(s) as applicable to specific road conditions on each job site; inspection and enforcement of safety plans; advanced study and informed knowledge of plans and specs issued by the design engineer prior to arrival on a job site; assessing damage and coordinating repairs within the scope of work as designated by the contract; ensuring all codes and regulations were followed, maintenance of project management time records, equipment needs, and quantity of bid items; preparation of reports on temporary asphalt conditions; observation of CCTV inspection to determine effectiveness of repair; and coordination any testing schedules or other scheduling that would be needed to complete the restoration of the systems.

Assigned to the rehabilitation of a runway at New Orleans International Airport. I prepared and submitted documentation to Parson's Aviation based on my observations of the contractor's progress. The focus of my work was the removal of existing concrete, asphalt, base and sub-base, which was replaced with new installation, compact testing, and finishing. Read blue prints to make sure the project met specifications. Drafted some forming design. Used AutoCAD, as well as on-site recording data involving project management of material quantities, quality control of material and workmanship, completion percentage, plan changes, measurements, elevations, work force, equipment, and incident reports. I also provided visual aid via digital camera/video.

UNIVERSAL PERSONNEL; New Orleans, LA Apr 2002 – Nov 2002
Cad Operator
Assigned to Shell Deepwater Development Inc. to work as a draftsman in the design of tension leg platforms for deepwater Gulf of Mexico projects. Used steel and concrete design for stabilizing pillars for the platforms as well as design of the living quarters. I performed as a team member updating designs on AutoCad drawings that were part of a massive database system. As changes to a design were needed, instructions were provided in the form of mark-ups directly from the engineer. With as many as 10 to 30 drawings a day, with complex layouts, I utilized my drafting skills in a wide variety of areas, including civil, structural, piping, mechanical, and electrical. Experience gained at this position was particularly beneficial due to the exposure to additional AutoCad commands and add-on packages provided by a software writing team.
