Skills and knowledge Overview

During the last 25 years I have gained a diverse range of skills and experience, making me highly competent and qualified within the civil and mechanical aspects of scaffolding works. In industries such as power generation, coal and gas, pharmaceutical, food and beverages, water treatment, Refinery's, gas and petrochemical. I have worked on, been involved, and overseen many major projects ranging from thousands of pounds up to £1.6m. I have had up to 90 operatives under my control at any one time, on various projects and sites. All completed within an acceptably margin and to program.

I am an advanced Scaffolder (CISRS), Advanced Scaffold Inspection, Risk Assessment Trained, and am Computer Literate. I have an extensive understanding of scaffolding and design, the importance of health and safety and the best ways to achieve the goal of supplying clients with a cost effective and safe system of works to meet all their access and protection requirements.

For many years I have been the front line management representative coordinating and liaising with the client. I am capable of working independently, while also showing good leadership and communication skills. Very good at following instructions, being able to plan and problem solve.
Using all these skills I have been very proactive in the planning and programming of contracts, controlling and reporting cost, both for the client and my employer. Carrying out and recording method statements and risk assessments, conducting and recording quality and safety audits. Carrying out and recording accident investigations.

Other responsibilities include hiring and dismissing operatives in order to maintain a well balanced workforce for each ongoing contract. Planning and arranging the movement of the available workforce in order to resource works on a number of sites, and to the client's requirements. Have a good ability to regularly interact with my operatives to encourage innovative processes and procedures for improving operational efficiency and safety. I always strive to deliver a good quality service.
