Engineer (Design) for Hindustan Aeronautics Limited- Helicopter Division (Rotary Wing Research & Design Center).
Rotary Wing Research and Design Center (RWR&DC), is the organization in which I am working and referring. This center is also a division of H.A.L Design complex is responsible for design and development of Helicopters. Cheetah, Chetak and the prestigious multi role Helicopter "Advanced Light Helicopter" (ALH) are a few helicopters HAL has under its wings.
Responsibilities:
- Design, Development & Drawing, Preliminary Analysis of ALH (Advanced Light Helicopter) and LCH (Light Combat Helicopter).
- Design, Development & Drawing of structural parts & assemblies.
- Data based management for Productionizing Drawings & drawing release.
- Solid Modeling & Surface Modeling of Structural Parts.
- Integration of Assemblies in CAD Packages like Unigraphics, Solid Edge & Autosurf.
- Involved in productionizing of drawings namely converting manual to CAD Drawings.

PROJECTS HANDLED IN HAL INCLUDE:
Design of Bottom Panel Assembly
Softwares used Unigraphics, Autocad 2000, R14, Autosurf
Bottom panel Assembly is situated below the Transmission Deck Area. Bottom panel Assembly serves as the drain system for the Transmission Deck Area. Bottom panel assembly has drain routing system for oil and water draining through the hosepipes to below the side shell.

Design of Additional Beam Assembly to reinforce in Engine Deck Area.
Softwares used Unigraphics, Autocad 2000, R14, Autosurf
Additional Beam Assembly has been introducing in the Engine Deck Area to avoid the vertical oscillation tendency of the aircraft during the VNE (Velocity Never Exist) at certain altitude.

Design of Fixed Step and Foldable Step Assembly for Civil Version of ALH (as per user requirement).
Softwares used Unigraphics, Autocad 2000, R14, Autosurf
As per the user requirement a Fixed Step and a Foldable Step has been introduced in the Civil Variant Helicopter by taking consideration of the ergonomics factor.

Design & Modification of Window Assembly (as per user requirement.)
Software's used Unigraphics, Autocad 2000, R14, Autosurf
Increasing the cut out of the window panel and window glass and reinforcing the window frame assem have increased visibility of the window glass.

Design of Positive Locking of ARIS BUSH in Transmission Deck Area.
Software's used Unigraphics, Autocad 2000, R14, Autosurf
Its main purpose is to support the ARIS pendulums that are housed in the corner beams diagonally to attached to the longitudinal beams at the four sides of the corner. Two rear machined corner beams have the same provision for ARIS pendulum support at the rear. These are parallel to the four ARIS beams. This serves the purpose of isolate the fuselage from vibrations caused by the rotor system.

Indigenous Design & Development of foldable strut assem. For Slithering Boom Platform
Softwares used Unigraphics, Autocad 2000, R14, Autosurf

Slithering boom is structural member attached to any typical helicopter that facilitates the troops to get dropped or picked up from the enemy's territory from a hovering helicopter. To carry out this slithering operation a slithering platform is provided which is of foldable type. The purpose of foldable type is to close this platform in the cold condition.

Study Concept for Strut Assembly of Stub Wing for Weight reduction.
Softwares used Unigraphics, Autocad 2000, R14, Autosurf,
Strut assembly is a load carrying member which is attached to the stub wing to the frame #5 & #5A. Strut tube is made of steel tube. Now this steel tube is converted into Al. tube.
Design of Emergency exit door for Advanced Light Helicopter.
Software used: Unigraphics, AutoCAD, Autosurf.
Emergency exit door is used for emergency bailing out. Emergency exit door is locked at 6 points by interconnected pins. By operating a jettison handle the door detaches within seconds.
Extensive work on various Composite parts like Bottom Structure, Tail Boom, End Plates, Horizontal Stabilizer and related Fairings.
3 Dimensional modeling of Intermediate Gear Box and Bottom Structure of ALH – Softwares used: Unigraphics.
