Duties include: Coordination with Indonesian Red Cross [PMI], government, Red Cross Movement, implementing partners, NGO's & IO's, and affected villagers to building transitional/permanent sheltering and community based water & sanitation systems for villages and towns. Capacity building through development of village level water committees to empower villagers to mange, operate and maintain their systems and to promote of good hygiene/health practices. Cooperation and integration of activities other AmCross-Indonesia programs into assistance to communities. (June 2005 to Present) The Atlantic Group/ABB SUSA - EGYPT Middle Egypt Project – Water & Wastewater Operations Specialist USAID funded infrastructure project involving construction of water and wastewater facilities for three Middle Egypt cities. Duties included development of an operations, maintenance, and training program for each facility including start-up and commissioning. Facilities included: surface water treatment plant expansions, new wastewater treatment facilities, new and rehabilitation of wastewater pumping stations. (July 2004 to Present) PADCO/DAI – Planning and Development Collaborative International/Developmental Alternatives Inc. Serbian Local Government Reform Project – SLGRP Kraljevo & Nis, SERBIA Communal Enterprise Team Leader USAID local government funded project responsible for providing tailored technical assistance and training to Serbian Communal Enterprises to improve their performance. Assistance given to local water/wastewater/solid waste companies in the fields of management, technical operations, and public relations/customer service to strengthen Enterprises to become more self sufficient. Classroom training and technical assistance provided on subjects such as: tariff reform, billing and collection policies, operations and maintenance manual development, water loss reduction/metering, solid waste management planning, customer service policies, public relations, financial strengthening, capital projects identification and packaging, long-term planning, and policy reform with the republic government. Also included training and capacity building of local advisors to carry on assistance. Coordination with other USAID programs and other international donors for directing funding for infrastructure improvements to communities. (November 2001 to March 2004) United Nations Interim Administration in Kosovo – UNMIK F.R.Y.(KOSOVO) Regional Public Utilities Officer Responsible for the coordination of public utilities within the Regional area and with municipal governments of Peje/Pec Region. This included: water, sanitation, solid waste, transportation, electricity, post, and telecom issues. Assisted with cooperation of the Central Government, KFOR, and International & Non-Governmental donors with the rehabilitation of utilities and roadways. Working with Municipalities and Public Utility Service Providers with O&M of their systems. Lead coordination of snow and ice clearance operations for the region for winter of 2000/2001. (September 2000 to November 2001) International Rescue Committee - ALBANIA and F.R.Y.(KOSOVO) Water & Sanitation Manager Responsible for construction of water and sanitation facilities for refugees of war. Work in Albania included assistance to refugee camps and collective centers with water, sanitation, solid waste and drainage. Continued into Kosovo with assistance in restoring and supplying emergency water and sanitation needs to towns and villages. Work included well cleaning, disinfection, emergency toilets, hygiene kit distribution, health/hygiene promotion, and other water related repairs. Supervision of local water engineers and health promoters in construction works. (April 1999 to September 1999) Seavin Corporation - JV of Day & Zimmerman and Vinnell Corp. - Beni Suef Airbase, EGYPT Water Technician Responsible for the water and wastewater systems for a remote airbase housing compound. Facilities include: surface water treatment, pumping station and distribution system, irrigation systems, fire protection pumping station, swimming pool/spa, wastewater collection and pumping stations, and associated construction and plumbing. Rebuilt the compound wastewater pumping station and activities Center water system. (September 1997 to September 1998) Chemitreat - Thailand Limited, Bangkok, THAILAND Senior Operations Engineer - SubMicron Technology Responsible for the start-up, commissioning, and O&M training of the waste treatment facilities for a wafer fabrication production facility. Waste treatment consisted of Hydrogen Fluoride and pH neutralization systems, associated systems including solvent recovery, chemical addition, and lift stations. Duties also included preparation of O&M manuals, and work with the facility water pre- treatment units before the RO/DI UHP water treatment. (February 1997 to August 1997) Morrison - Knudsen Corporation, Port Said, EGYPT Operations Specialist USAID funded Canal Cities Water and Wastewater Project involving improvements to the City of Port Said in cooperation with the Egyptian Government and Suez Canal Authority. Responsible for implementation of the OM&T program of a design, build, and operation of a 100,000M3/D wastewater treatment plant, co-composting facility, and raw water pumping station. Duties included development of an O&M training program, start-up, direct advise and assist of operations and maintenance, preparation of manuals, and an environmental water testing program. (April 1996 to January 1997) International Rescue Committee - TAJIKISTAN, N.I.S. Water Supply Program Specialist Responsible for the implementation of a water and sanitation program funded by UNHCR and USAID, involving rehabilitation and construction of existing water systems to assist refugees and effected persons due to civil war. Work entailed installation of deep and shallow-well handpumps, submersible pump operations and maintenance, latrine construction and rehabilitation, technical training, logistics, and field assessments. Worked also performed with UNICEF, Red Cross, and other NGO's. Supervised a staff of thirty persons. (August 1994 to August 1995) PWT of Americas/Thames Water PLC - Cairo, EGYPT Inventory Control Supervisor / Training Specialist USAID funded Provincial Cities Development Project involving water and wastewater improvements in three Egyptian cities. Responsible for inventory and warehousing control, logistics, materials management and procurement, sea/air shipment processing, spare parts scheduling, plant start-up and commissioning, and O&M training program development. Supervised a staff of fifteen persons. (May 1991 to August 1993) National Education Corporation - Cairo, EGYPT Technical Advisor - Damanhour Training Center Short term contract on the Water and Wastewater Institutional Support Project (WWISP), in cooperation with the Egyptian Government Water Authority and USAID. Advised training center managers, trainers, and technicians in technical aspects of water & wastewater operational process control, equipment, training materials and training. Developed systems for procurement, maintenance, training, and safety procedures for operation of the facility. (November 1990 to February 1991) General Dynamics Services Company - EGYPT Industrial Waste Treatment Specialist Advise and assist in the water and wastewater systems, electroplating, and other facilities maintenance in a repair workshop for military armored vehicles. Assisted in the inspection and installation of equipment and utilities. Developed and conducted maintenance training to Egyptian local nationals.
