PROFILE:
Mohammed Faisal is a highly organized chartered architect and urban designer who has worked with International British practices as well as government organizations for the past thirteen years. Faisal is passionate about his work and is result oriented. Faisal has handled diverse building types and has the ability to fully design and detail any job no matter how large or small, from concept to completion.

Among other responsibilities, Mohammed Faisal represented the organizations in matters regarding pre/post contract agreements, design development, working drawings, construction supervision / project management, site operations, claims and contract variations.

Mohammed Faisal is presently hired by the prestigious government organization, The Diwan of Royal Court as a senior project architect. Faisal's key project is a residential palace, which is due for completion. Responsibilities include design, supervision and active co-ordination between sub-consultants on a regular basis to monitor cost, quality and time deadlines. Defining state of-the-art technical specifications to be used as benchmark of Diwan Standards for future projects has been one of his key assignments.

Faisal completed his post graduation in Urban Design from the Centre for Environmental and Planning Technology (CEPT) in Ahmedabad, India in 1994. Faisal is also passionately involved in writing and teaching architectural design, the complexities and intricacies informing the nature and range of cross cultural architectural exchanges in a number of instances in the modern Islamic world.

Hobbies include travel, research, writing and photography. Faisal is married and lives and works in the Sultanate of Oman with his wife and daughter.

Projects Residential Palace of contract value approximately 100 million dollars.
Responsibility Reporting to the Director, Diwan of Royal Court, was hired to design and supervise this prestigious fast track project in an extremely short contract period of 18 months.
Started design and construction drawings from virtually thumb nail sketches and wrote /upgraded specifications matching state-of-the-art industry standards.
Structured an on-site design, supervision team of 16 architects and engineers for production of drawings and on site supervision.
Coordinated between client and sub-consultants (ID, QS, MEP, Electronics/ Communications, Landscape/ irrigation and Acoustic) and administered defining of scope of work and specifications.
Planned pre and post contract strategies defining scope of Management Contractor, Main Contractor and a total of 24 domestic and nominated Sub Contractor.
Detailed out procurement plans for the project to meet a fast track completion target.
Carried out Technical evaluation of Tender Submissions and advised the QS Consultant in issuing necessary addendums to avoid discrepancies during project maturity.
Advised the Client/ Tender Board in final contract negotiations for the project award to the main contractor and respective domestic and nominated sub contractors.
Categorized works packages such as direct orders, provisional sum items, design and build contracts and the traditional main contractors scope of works.
Defined specific responsibilities for each of the above contractors and advised and monitored their organization structure from project conception to completion.
Monitored project growth and scheduled bench-mark targets to ensure activities do not fall onto a critical path.
Reviewed sample materials for finishes and awarded approvals ensuring quality and workmanship to meet the specified standards.
On completion, carried out the final inspection of work, testing and commissioning and reviewed "As Built" drawings, thereby assisting the issue of building completion certificate.

Responsibility Responsible for ISO 9001/1994 QA/QC documentation ensuring dissemination of drawings/documents in conformance with the organizations QA/QC policy.
- Carried out feasibility studies and prepared preliminary designs for client presentations such as Muscat Municipality and Ministry of Tourism.

Projects Reporting to the chief architect designed and detailed proposals based on clients brief. Handled up to ground + fourteen floors, commercial, residential and recreational complexes. Prestigious residential villas bearing contract value between five to twenty million Dirhams each.

Responsibility Responsible for the preparation of and presentation of the preliminary and intermediate designs, design briefs and cost estimates to clients.
- Developed preliminary design proposals taking into account amendments requested by the client for initial approvals to Dubai Municipality. Revised preliminary design proposals incorporating the Municipality comments.
- Developed scheme design to constructional details and produced and supervised working drawings.
- Co-ordinated with structural and MEP engineers for a systematic progress of work.
