ENGINEERING & MAINTENANCE
I. As "Instrument Engineer-Engineering Services" in Al-Jubail Petrochemical Co., in LLDPE, following roles is carried out.

* Troubleshooting and provide engineering expertise in resolving persistent or complex problem related to Plant instrumentation & control system.
* Diagnose complex faults, analyze malfunctions and breakdowns and recommend necessary modifications to avoid reoccurrence of complex faults.
* Developing "Design Basis Document" for in-house project from feasibility, conceptual basic engineering study to increase productivity / reliability /quality.
* Working in cross-functional teams to provide appropriate project scopes, engineering analysis and solutions, cost estimates schedules, coordination & management.
* Carry out design / engineering review (P&I Diagrams, wiring diagrams, instrument specification, I/O allocation), detail engineering, construction & commissioning of plant design changes and modifications.
* Participating in failure analysis, Incident Investigation of plant safety & reliability, carry out Root cause failure Analysis with "Causal Factor Why Tree" to identify root cause of failure and recommend action item & modification to eliminate the cause.
* Participate in Risk Analysis, HAZOP, what if for existing facilities & new facilities.
* Selection & sizing of Instruments, preparing /review specifications, data sheets, instrument loop diagram, wiring diagram, logic diagram/ narratives/ cause & effect matrix.
* Preparation & review of engineering drawings and co-relate them with the site installation, guide technician to implement the design changes.
* Preparation of purchase requisition, checking the vendor quotes & expedite with logistics to get the material at site.
* Defining technical requirement and performance criteria for suppliers and contractors for the assigned projects.
* Co-ordination with supplier, construction contactor, planning, operation, maintenance, inspection for effective implementation of projects.
* Participating in Pre-start up safety review (PSSR), making punch-list and follow-up to close the items and making "as-built" drawings & hand-over to maintenance & operation.
* Supervising the contractor and guiding the technician to construct the facility as per design and carryout pre-commissioning & start up.
* Identifying particular problems areas, assess the effectiveness of current maintenance procedures (SMP, PMP) for handling the problems promptly and efficiently.

II. As "Assistant Manager-Instrumentation" in Reliance Industries Limited, following responsibilities was carried out during the Project Eng. assignment in Captive Power Plant.

* Review P&IDs, Instrument Specification, DCS /PLC I/O, Panel lay lot, panel/wiring diagram, BOMs, calculations and other engineering documents from Consultants / vendors for I&C equipments.
* Conduct site surveys of facilities to establish and identify the actual requirements.
* Reviewing & carrying out functional checking of control scheme, interlock & start permissive logic.
* Modify Instrument loop diagram, hook up & installation diagram after verifying the actual site requirement.
* Modification of the PLC logic, control schematic during pre-commissioning & commissioning. (Implemented the emergency shutdown logic of MODICON PLC & Burner Management System in ALLEN-BRADLEY 5/40 PLC.
* Supervising construction & commissioning, quality assurance, punch listing to meet the requirement and taking handover of Instrument & control system.
* Assists in expediting of vendor data and drawings, and of equipment/material deliveries. Also assists in evaluation of vendor change orders and in the negotiation with vendor.
* Liaison with contractors during project installation and commissioning.
* Coordinate with other engineers during the development and execution of the job to ensure conformity of engineering and user's requirements.

Major Projects: Additive feeder upgrade (control & equipment) project (Kemya), Phase VII Expansion Project (Kemya), Captive Power Plant Project (Boiler, Feed Pump, Burner management, Auxiliaries) in Reliance Industries Limited.

CONTROL SYSTEM-ENGINEERING SERVICES
1. As "Sr. Engineer-Support Services" in Tata Honeywell Ltd and following roles was carried out in Honeywell TDC3000/TPS distributed control system (DCS).

* Supported Customer for system modifications, administration, application engineering (Graphics, new control strategy, logics) for expansion project & small improvement projects.
* Performed maintenance (Repair, failure investigation) /System administration of Honeywell TPS (TDC-3000) Distributed Control System (DCS) like taking system back up, check pointing, and Application back up, preventive maintenance, defining the maintenance requirement for the installed system.
* Carried out the annual maintenance of the installed system during Turn Around (updating database, system back up, application back up, Preparing Emergency "Fast Load Cartridge" to load system in case of Hard failure)
* Performing the system checks & powering /start up the system and providing technical support (Loop check, simulation, modification in control database) (TDC3000/TPS/GUS) during for commissioning and start up. (Haldia Petrochemical Project).
* System Hardware/Software release upgrades with co-ordination with central engineering group for Honeywell TPS (TDC3000).
* Define customer need to define system H/w (Controller, I/O, FTAs) and application engineering requirement and work with engineering for proper system configuration of DCS (TDC3000) for modifications project.
* Assisted core engineering & factory for conducting Factory approval Test.

2. As "Assistant Manager-Instrumentation" in Reliance Industries Limited, following role & function were carried out during the assignment as "Control System Engineer".

* Liaison with control system vendor (ABB) for project supply, functional specifications, Engineering requirements, FAT, Documentation and supervision.
* Liaison with control system vendor for day to day work progress, problem resolving, service support during commissioning to ensure proper completion (Site Acceptance Test) and hand over.
* Troubleshooting, maintenance, system administration (back up, loading S/w, configuring the H/w) entire complex DCS (ABB Advant500) & ESD (Modicon 785 PLC) installations. Preparation of emergency back up (hard drive) for Operators station, engineering station and IMS.
* Modification of Control logic/strategy, Graphic, operating environment as per plant requirement & back up of control database, engineering & operating station.
* Preparing the turnover documentation & proper hand over of all updated control database and documentation of the control system of the Project.
* Implementation of DCS (ABB Advant 500 System) system Hardware/Software release upgrades or other system changes / patches to repair the system bugs.
* Modifying the Control Database, Graphic, operating environment & back up of all engineering & operating station during improvement / modification project.

MAINTENANCE
Worked as "Maintenance Engineer" in CFCL. As Maintenance Engineer following roles & responsibilities was carried out.

* Guiding and supervising Preventive/Shutdown/Breakdown Maintenance, Troubleshooting, Calibration of various continuous measuring instrument / analyzer & motion control system in continuous polymerization, solvent extraction and continuous drew line up to final product packaging.
* Developing preventive and routine maintenance schedules, procedure to ensure that equipment are maintained as effectively as possible.
* Specifying and ordering of spare parts and develops spare strategy with interchangeability.
* Troubleshooting and identifying the bad actor of the problem from interlock logic/sequence logic & control schematic.
* Carry out the modification in plant to increase reliability.
