1. PERSONAL STATEMENT

I have passed Master of Science Degree in Geology from Tribhuvan University, Nepal in 1995 and Professional Master Degree in Geological Engineering from the International Institute of Geo-information Science and Earth Observation, ITC the Netherlands in 2003. Throughout my professional life, I have worked in the field of engineering geology especially in the area of hydropower development in Nepal. Further study in geological engineering in the Netherlands provided me an opportunity to upgrade my knowledge and professionalism in engineering geological field. Despite a huge potential as well as demand, Nepal has not been able to launch any new big engineering projects such as hydropower projects, road projects etc. and offer good working opportunity to skilled, experienced, educated people within the country due to its poor economical condition. Thus, I have been looking for a job in the same field of my experience some where else outside Nepal. Thus, I hope you will provide me a chance to substitute a suitable post.

Below, I have elaborated my education, experience, skills and expertise.

3. WORK EXPERIENCE

2.1 March 2007 to date

Employer: JV Norconsult/Lahmeyer International GmbH

Responsibility:

i) Follow up tunnel excavation includes;
* Perform geological tunnel logging
* Prepare monthly reports covering progress and performed support works
* Make own assessment on support design applied by the contractor ii) Follow up core drilling includes;
* Prepare monthly reports covering progress of the work elaborating rock description, rock quality, working conditions, in-situ tests performed such as SPT, permeability tests and Lugeon tests etc.

iii) Geological surface mapping
* Detailed geological mapping of dam site with description on rock types, degree of weathering, crack pattern with orientation and dip, weakness zones with fill materials, description of surface loose materials
* Detailed geological mapping of tunnel portals
* Identify and describe potential areas with landslide hazards in the project area and vicinity
* Assess geological profiles at characteristic points along the headrace tunnel based on geological features on surface
